Testing: Would you buy Shine merchandise?

Post by SailorPtah »

I wouldn't touch anything copyrighted, of course. There's no chance of my Alucard fanart showing up on a T-shirt.

But there are quotes that people like ("I'm going to kill her. Yes, I know she's already dead!" / "I'm not lighting this to smoke it. I'm lighting it to throw it at you." / "I sense a lengthy flashback coming, sir.").

Also, slogans ("Catholics Only Sandbox", "April Bleeping Fools").

And, of course, a few original characters. I'm thinking Baalberith with a coffee mug and a stack of papers, with the slogan "Hell is a bureaucracy".

You see what I mean.

The question is, would you buy it?

(And, if so, are there slogans/quotes/things you would particularly like to see?)

I was thinking of merchandise like a Hellsing doujinshi (H or non-H, whichever you prefer drawing). Fan comics are generally tolerated in Japan - I would imagine they'd let you sell them here in the states, too.

I like a lot of those slogans and quotes. ^_^ Especially Integra's. I also like the idea of a published doujinshi (Though no H doujinshi. Those are just... ick. I don't have anything against shoujo-ai/shounen-ai doujinshi though... I'd like to an Integra/Seras. :shucks: )

And on a different note... *glomps Erin* I love your comic. Thank you for sharing it with the world.

If you can sew I think it would be really cute if you could make a plushie of the little angle girl. I'm sorry but i forgot her name.

I doubt a published comic would fly very well. Gonzo and Dark Horse have assorted rights registered in the States; the Japanese companies may not care as much, but these ones would probably sue me.

The angel's name is Lisa, and she is actually a Cabbage Patch Kid that I own :) She doesn't have an angel outfit; I wish I could sew, because I'd love to make her one.

Maybe I'll try knitting something...

My favourite quotation has always been that baalberith one... " the day a beauracracy moves that fast is the day this one freezes over", I'd buy a t-shirt with that, adjusted to the fact that there's no preceding comic, like "the day any beauracracy can moves fast enough to account for all my sins is the day this one freezes over"with a picture of baalberith looking harassedly at a monitor. that'd roxorr

Poor Erin. *hugs* I wish I could sew too. XP And american companies are such pains in the arse. You can't do anything in this country without someone suing you.

I love antoncevey's idea.
Since you made baalberth, you can put him on the shirt saying that.
I would sooo buy that.

Just to see if other people here like the idea as I, as a good stalker have already suggested it to Erin, "Good doggie."

Hey ^_^

Suggestions are good. I could use more suggestions. I'd rather have more than six votes on the poll before I actually run with this, so there's time =)

You mean from the comic where they went back in time, and Integra fell down the stairs? <3 Wonderful idea.

I've got an idea I'd like: Luke hiding behind a rock saying 'it's safer back here' (or something like that) while chibi. ^_^ Chibi Luke is cute.

Chibi Luke is also a copyrighted character ^_~

I'll see about using the line, though.

I'd buy a shirt with some of Dr. Abraham Van Helsing's Engrish on it. I'm pretty sure his lines are all public domain since Dracula is so old. Perhaps, 'My head is in plane with the horizon?'

How about a shirt that says all in big print "And Shine Heaven Now" and below that or on the back it'll say " Where the flying fangirls reign". Casue tenickly the fangirls kinda fly, right? Or it could just say "Where the chibi fangirls reign." Stupid or good?

Sounds good to me.

Although I'm not exactly unbiased; anything that people will buy is going to sound good to me on some level ^_^;

Seriously, though, I like the idea.

Is a rock with some of his hair behind it copyright? ...grr, that would've been a cute shirt, too!
