Wow, I just clicked this link on another forum. And I'll say the same thing here that I did there.

Equus is actually a VERY powerful and rather difficult-to-act-to play, kudos for Radcliffe to go give it a shot.

(Note, though: The character Radcliffe is playing is very...angsty... if you couldn't tell from the article. Fanservice to those HP fans who like to write Angsty!Harry fanfiction? XP)

Never seen the play, but Kudos to Radcliffe for telling the whole of Hollywood to kiss his ass and doing something he WANTS to do. (Cause I'm pretty sure there's no ammount of money that could make an actor take up a play in which he gets it up the butt form a horse if he didn't want to).

I'd actually like to see him do something else, as he actually seems to be a pretty decent actor, I think it's a good idea to do something to break type fast before he suffers Skywalker Syndrome.

Uhhhh...what? I haven't seen the Equus movie but I have read the play and I assure you...there is no horse beastiality. Unless I was totally missing something, the only sexual act is between the main character and a girl, and nothing even comes of that.

Err...

Having never seen Equus, I had to use the description of the play on the link (notablly: 'playing a stable boy who has an erotic relationship with his horses.") but I can assure you I had no belief that he would ACTUALLY BANG THE HORSE ONSTAGE. My comments were intented solely as hyperbole intented to emphasis the typical "casting director role typeing" factor that plays out. When you play as many scary roles as Walken, you get scary roles, when you play as many good guys as Ford, you get Hero roles. If you play a ceepy kid with a sexual fetish for horses either you win an oscar or the phone just stops ringing. Since it's a play and not movie, he's not going to be winning an oscar.

Also, though, he's british so mostly they can just write it off if they want him for anything else in the US as "one of those weird UK things." (personally, I don't think any Hollywood execs have ever even seen a play to begin with...)

I guess I can't disagree with the billing, though it makes it seem like there is horse-on-human sex. The relationship between the character and the horses are very erotic in their own right...he worships them to the point of obsessiveness and madness.

Like I said, I think it's fanservice. XP
