Er..tri-band and quad band are simply frequencies that cell phones work on. Many corperations that support cell phone useage work on one - four of those frequencies so cell phone users can go anywhere in the world and still use their phone.

Triband means that you have three frequencies that are used world wide, while quadband simply means four frequencies.

I just know my phone is a GSM phone, and when I went to the yukon and turned it on, it gave me a recorded message saying I had traveled outside of the service area and could only use my phone to call for emergency help.

which I thought was weird because my phone did ok when I was in Vancouver.

Yeah, Toronto is one of the busiest places in Canada besides Vancouver, you should be just fine other then roaming charges ^___^

Ha! I really had to leave Canada to discover that there was actually stuff going on there.
