Temperature notice for Cookout

Post by Rkolter »

The last few days it's been hitting 90 here with high humidity, and they expect more or less the same thing during the week leading up to, and the day of, the cookout.

Please take that under advisement when you are packing. Those of you who burn easily (like Beth), or absolutely abhor heat (like me), prepare yourselves.

Those of you who like heat... we'll eat your brains and hope to get your yummy heat resistance (hey, it works in nethack!).

Saturday, May 27th, 2006. 2:30pm. 92F with a heat index making it feel like 97F. UV index is 7. Humidity is at 48%.

For laymen's terms. It's fucking hot outside. Wear t-shirts, shorts, flip flops, and sunblock 1 zillion if you're like me.

92? Psh. Our average is 100, mind you we don't get nearly as bad humidity. My hair's going to frizz...Isn't it? :(

90, huh? I dunno what you're all making a fuss about. That's cold by down under standards. I honest-to-god wear a jacket on 90 degree days.*

Shouldn't be too bad. I've been places like Thailand.

Though I'm not wearing a black shirt anymore.

Seeing as our weather is exactly the same here, I think we can stand it...but y'all will get to see Jim complain about the heat, and the fact that he doesn't get to wear his jacket, which he'll bring along anyway just because.

Hey, I'll still get to wear it inside, where it's air conditioned. Image

...That's hot?

Well, yeah, it is hot, but that's normal summer weather. I don't worry until the thermometer breaks 100F.

...course, I don't go walking in the heat, either.

Daddy'll protect you sweetie. Air conditioning can do wonders for a Dutch troglodite.
