San Diego Comic Con
Only a couple months away, so I figured best start early with this.
San Diego Comic Con is July 20-23 with a Preview Night on July 19th if you pre-order a 4 day pass.
So, who is coming? That is first and foremost the important thing to me. I'm about 99% sure there is no Comic Genesis booth (and if there is, I want to volunteer myself!!!), though there is usually a Keenspot booth.
If you will be attending the con, I want to meet you and am very much in favor of a big group meet, a big group dinner, and a big group party (possibly at my place).
The other reason I am posting is because I live in San Diego and am offering up my apartment for temporary room and board to a few people who will be travelling from out of town and need a place to stay.
I want priority to go to people who are iffy about going due to travel costs and for whom saving $50+ a night on hotel fees, as well as some of the cost of food (food is cheap for me and I don't mind sharing pasta), is the deciding factor. If there is a lack of interest and you just wanna be cheap and crash on my couch/floor for the duration of the con then so be it. We'd be probably be travelling by trolley (I live a little over 5 min. from campus and its trolley station) though if we want to do anything else at night I will have a car.
If you're interested in crashing with me, PM me and we can talk there or in IRC.
For everything else....POST HERE!!

Boy do I feel bad bumping this twice. But the con is now about a month away, so I'd like this to at least hover somewhere on the first page as opposed to the LAST page.
So far it looks like myself, Sincerely, PF27, 834n (For a day), KrisX (maybe), Neko (for a day), and Toxic (maybe) are interested in this.
Is there anyone else who post-Cookout realizes they can come? Who now can't come?
I'm going all four days including preview night, so I'm wondering when we want to meet up, what after activities we want to do, things like that. To reiterate, if anyone wants to come but can't cause of hotel costs, I can host one person at my apartment (2 if someone doesn't mind a sleeping bag on the floor).

Well, I'll definitely be there all 4 plus Preview Night. Preview Night I'm actually gonna have dinner with my brother at Todai, the all you can eat Japanese buffet. Thursday I have class from 6-9:30, but we could go to some place open pretty late like Chili's. Friday, Neko's busy unless we wanted to do something without him. Saturday and Sunday I'm TOTALLY good for.
I think Sin mentioned in chat she'll only be there a couple days, so I'm up for late dinner at Chili's on Thurs. for all of us. Also, if we're feeling up to it, there's a great Italian place called Filipi's with excellent pizza right near me, with another one in Little Italy. Dunno how late they're open.
I'm thinking that each day we meet up at the Con, figure out each other's schedules, and then try to really fast figure out what to do when we're all done for the day. If we all get a chance to pre-plan what panels we want to go to, how long we'll spend wandering the booths, etc. maybe we can work out a preliminary plan. I'll be doing some of that this weekend when I'm home visiting my folks.
I'm gonna keep my eye out for things to do in the evening, and if we all really wanted to do something like watch movies and eat pizza my apartment is definitely available considering I am also hosting TM. He's still on the fence for how long he'll be there, possibly also just a couple of days unless he got like a 4 day press pass.
