Is she? She's going to both the Uk thing and the cookout? *complete jealousy*

I'm not too hot on Europe but I suppose Norway is probably not exactly prohibitively far away from England or anything.

Got your number, Jops. Like Claude said, just hop on the underground to Mile End station, and follow the map on the UK comic con site.

For what it's worth, I'll be there from around 11:ooam until probably 2:00 or 3:00 pm. I'd have gotten and set up a table if I'd have known about this gig earlier, but i just found out about it today.

Lucky for me I live only a mile or so away, so I can still jet down there and have some fun.

If you see me rollin' around in my wheelchair, stop me and say "Hi".

From Victoria Station on the Circle line, take a train headed towards Liverpool Street Station, from there you can get a train on either the Central of Hammersmith & City lines directly to Mile End station

lolz0rz! No chance in hell I'm going now, but I'm sure a fair percentage of people are right pleased about that. :D

That said I'll be in London so if anyone wants to catch up, give me a buzz - Jops and Laura both have my number.

Ahoy! British Museum!

I'm game for Museum 11am meeting whatnots again. If anyone wants to be guided by Monsieur Mute Londonite Photographer then I'm up for guiding from the old museum - once again, 11am depart so get there early.

Hands up for the Brit Museum? Don't forget your travel cards.

P.S. Anyone figured what to do afterwards?

Done a quick tube station search on London Eating.co.uk (why didn't I do this before?) and come up with a well reviewed Japanese called Matsu right near Mile End station - not sure of opening times. All other restaurants in the area are awful, apparently - which isn't surprising.Wellp, it's an option if we want foods.

The pub crawl sounds interesting even with me out of my urban depth (I'm leafy West Londonite), but hey, London!

See you at the Museum my considerably tall man!

Thanks for the info RY.

Btw, here're more details.
I'll arrive at Stansed airport at about 10:00 am (ETA is 9:50 to be exact).
From there there are buses to Victoria Station. Between luggage claim and ride i expect it to take approximately one hour.

I may get off the bus at the 1st tube station i see and try to reac mile end from there.

Then that i'll be around until late nite (my next flight is at 6 am), so plenty of time for afterwards.

Reviews make it sound like a small joint so I doubt it, although there's little chance it'll be thrivingly busy so who knows?

Best bet's probably to follow Central Londonites who might know their stuff like RYClaude. Whatchoo' doin' for the evening mr Claude?

I was gonna see what everyone else was doin'
Mile end is a bit of a dump, better off heading back into central london I think, course that's difficult if we still have lotsa stuff to carry.

There are pubs in the area, though some attending dont drink. I really do not know.

For Komi and war, pat says this:

Theres a competition.

the idea is that on the back of all the maps there is a list of all the exhibitors. The visitors have to find out what the main comic for each exhibitor listed is. They then have to make a note on a form on the back of the map and hand it in at the ticket counter by 4pm. Prize announced at 4.45. The thought behind this is that it will encourage visitors to visit each table and look at your stuff and maybe buy something. I find that alot of people only get round to a small number of people because they have no obvious motivation to hurry up. I dont know if this is a good idea or not but i'm going to do it unless i hear any major reasons why not to by early tomorrow morning.

So that i know the right awnsers I will ask you each what the awnser should be and make a note of it.

Wellp, I was out one stop down from Mile End for an arts exihibit today and thought to pop to Matsus for lunch, and, well, it wasn't bad. Your standard Japanese: fair price (£8 a meal odd), Asian waiting staff, quick service, and pretty good food cooked by our cheapest and most exploited chefs, the British.

I was assured they could seat 10 on saturday, although I'm not sure to believe her, she then nodded enthusiastically and handed me the place's card with a number hastily written on it, so, uh, who knows what's going on there... the place is quite small. 30 people down stairs I guess? Maybe 30 up top? Should be able to do it...

It's a possibility, if not there's the Nanobyte Bar in Soho, hurrah bars!
