Allright, as I reach my one year mark, I thought it would be a good idea to have some sort of record of what people have been saying about the strip.
Some of these reviews come from a personal blogs, but I figured that you may enjoy reading them. Simply because I rather get a warm fuzzy feeling reading them.
And it's all about me me me me me you know...
Anway, here's what others have been saying about the strip over the past year.
Robert Howard, Tangents Webcomic Reviews: This thing is funny! It takes the elements that makes a comic funny and uses them... and does so in a comic that is deceptively a gag strip, but actually has an ongoing storyline that's interesting. http://tangents.keenspace.com/d/20050530.html
Sophmore Hipster 'Anywhere but there' an okay but uninspired romantic comedy rocketed itself to my check daily list by bringing in a love interest who fit into that cliche but was completely believable. http://www.livejournal.com/users/bats_eye/2460.html
Robert Howard, Tangents Webcomic Reviews: Just remember, kids, it's all fun and games to sit in the middle of railroad tracks until the train runs you down.... http://tangents.keenspace.com/d/20050706.html
Robert Howard, Tangents Webcomic Reviews:
Today, Jason has pulled yet another of his monster strips, with three huge pages of story goodness. http://tangent.panel2panel.com/tan-ch-0123.html
Team Mayhem, Korsil Webcomic Reviews: A hybrid comic that can be seen as one of a kind, one that deserves a perfect score that I so dearly dread to give out. But when I read Anywhere but Here, I realized that there's no contest to giving this comic five stars. http://www.korsil.net/modules.php?op=mo ... ent&id=198
Robert Howard, Tangents Webcomic Reviews: When he's finally done with ABH... he's either going to go pro, or going to vanish and sleep for a year straight. Maybe both. http://tangent.panel2panel.com/tan-ch-0228.html
Robert Howard, Tangents Webcomic Reviews: At the rate Jason is going, within a year he'll be drawing (and writing) strips for every single comic on the internet. Including the syndicated stuff.
Though that could only help improve the syndicated stuff's quality....
Andrew Araki, Comics Rock: I've been meaning to update my top 5 for a while. Even though quite a few good strips come out during this lull, I was either uninspired to write or too wrapped up in something else to be able to do so.
Mat, Mr. Myth Webcomic Discussion: It is a stellar comic all around, even if it does stray into some pretty crazy levels. And right now it is doing its thing, and doing it well. http://mrmyth.blogspot.com/2006/03/spir ... ssion.html
Heh...nice comments. You could always make an offer like I do. End of each calendar year I'm asking the readers to write a report for me (cos it's the time of year I have to write them for the kids). Those can be interesting...
Mind you...no one's taken me up on the offer so far this year...
I notice a lot of those comments seem to come from the same regular people too.
Remember when your imagination was real? When the day seemed
longer than it was, and tomorrow was always another game away?
Burns hasn't done a lot of reviews on Websnark recently, and even when he does, he mostly sticks to his faves. I think Questionable Content was the last thing he added to his trawl and that was MONTHS ago.
I've held off on doing some tangents because I kinda get the feeling Eric sees ABH as my territory. Even though I've e-mailed him and insisted that he absolutely should read this comic because he'll love it to pieces.
But I get a feeling Websnark is starting to self-destruct. When Wednesday posts something and people immediately go off on a tangent instead... and then both Eric and her are griping about it... well... it just bodes. And not a good boding.
Shame, too. I get more hits from Websnark than almost anywhere else. Something about trolling his discussion threads...
