Someone summarize the past three forum years

I honestly have nothing to contribute to this thread.

Except that I am content with being single ad eternum, am content to entertain the concept that I would also be happy in a relationship, and am content to keep myself semi-available for a serious relationship while at the same time living my life.

I am also content to enter into a sham marriage for profit and pay raises. Any females want to live in Germany for two years?

I just don't get why people would willingly give up the absolute freedom to do whatever they want, have their stuff wherever they want, not do the dishes if they don't feel like it, have random socks lying around, and never, ever worry about coming home and finding that someone had eaten all the ice cream.

Our apartment at this moment resembles nothing so much as a college dorm - papers (comics) are lying everywhere, my socks are everywhere because I have a weird tendency to take them off at random times, and someone is always stealing the last of the sweets (it's totally not me don't believe anything you hear >_> ). And our fights last all of five minutes - my friends think we're odd...

But just to get soppy for a minute here, when you've found the right person it's like it all.. clicks into place, sorta thing. This is right, this is how I want to be for the rest of my life. Nothing could be more comfortable, no-one could connect with me as much.

I blame the media - I think it gives people the idea that when the find the right person everything should just click into place and it should all be like magic, so then when they run into the first sign of trouble, they take this as an indication that they're with the wrong person and split up. The truth is that the version of love presented in movies and on television is just extremely unrealistic.

As for Pimp, I for one can testify that she doesn't live leaning over the stove in some sick parody of a 1950's infomercial. I mean... if someone is overprotective and controlling, why marry them in the first place? If someone gets too clingy and annoying, I dump them, I don't slip a ring on their finger and spend the rest of my life with them. My masochism ends at cuffs and the occasional cigar stubbed out on my nipples.
