Webcomic Review Database

Hi everyone,

Me and a few people have recently begun to build a new site that we feel will be useful for webcomic readers and creators alike. It's called Panelled - the Webcomic Review Database.

Think of it as like Rottentomatoes.com, but for webcomics.

Right now the site is still in its infancy, so it's nowhere near as comprehensive as we'd like it to be. But we hope to grow it to the point where it can become a valuable tool for people.

What we do is hunt down webcomic reviews from various sites and link to them, arranging the reviews by comic and calculating their average score. We also plan to do reviews of our own - at least two per comic. At Panelled, we believe that people should be exposed to a balance of opinions.

We're always looking for contributors; the more reviews there are on the site, the more useful it becomes. If you have a review site and you're willing to have all your reviews linked from our site - and honestly, why not? - check out our contact page. If you're interested in writing reviews for us (every review you write will feature your name plus your URL - it's practically free pub), we'd love to have you on. And if you'd like us to review your comic, let us know.

Check us out!

Sounds like an awesome idea. I recommend checking out Choicecomics.net for reviews and scores.

Sounds like a cool idea...although you may run into a problem with their being a lack of webcomic reviewers out there. There's certainly nowhere near as many as are reviewing movies or videogames or something.

Believe me, we're well aware of the problem. That's why we're trying to work out a solution.

Comicrankers...... *digs out address from links page* http://comicrankers.lfproductions.com/ Is also a ranking site, but they don't give reviews, they simply have comic descriptions and a 0-5 scoring grade on things such as style, art, and humour (to name some).
They're a bit back-logged with rankings at the moment, but they're likely to take the time to talk to you.

Disregard above. After visiting yer site, I see you're already working with comic rankers. What about buzzcomix? I think that people who are registered are allowed to give personal reviews of comics. That might be something to look into.

Thanks. Tangent's been on my agenda for a few days, I just have to contact him so we can work out how his reviews translate to our scoring system.

Send a URL to panelled@gmail.com and we'll add you to the queue =)

I'd love to; there's alot of material, but the thing is I don't know how I'd be able to link to individual reviews ...
