is it just me???

Post by Saski Berth »

Is it just me, or are the 'New" forums just a bit slow/ buggy??
I know it's not my connection - I'm on cable :)
I've gotten repeats of the 'page not found' error, then , backing to the forum, re-trying and getting the thread I was looking for...

I'm just posting this to let you know, and hopefully others will post here if they find they're having similar problems...

Veeeeeery slow, and veeeery buggy.

Technically, it's not the forum but the database that is at fault -- and has been since day one! They're working on it right now.

Also -- until they change the default, unselect "Notify me when a reply is posted" to lessen the traffic a wee bit.

:P :o :( :) :D :-? 8) :x    :P

$60 bucks a month for the cable modem and I have to wait seven minutes for a page to load from the forums. Money NOT well spent. Heres to wishing this'll be fixed soon.

There is also the off hand chance that this affects only cable modems... but that still doesn't explain the general lack of people in any forum.

Nope, it's been a generally slowness, so don't worry about your cable modem.
I'm using...well, actually I don't know what I use, but it's at my work, and it is <i>very</i> fast, and it did load ech page forever too. :)
And I think it might have been just fixed, since several minutes everything loads a lot faster to me...

Yup - looks like the little transition thingy that they did went through, and things seems t'be a bit faster now as a result. Woo!

Apparently things are going faster now. That makes me a happy monkey.javascript:emoticon(':D')

Incidently, you may have a T1 or partial T1 if you are used to blazing speed. I used to have one at my former place of business. Now they are considering a T3 connection (100 phone lines equivalent). Damn them!javascript:emoticon(':x')

Ooh, it looks like it's working now!

And there's another fix coming soon that should make it faster.
