Mobicon

Post by VinnieD »

If there are any Alabamans around here, I'll be in your state in a few short hours. I'm going to be at Mobicon http://mobicon.org this weekend in the artist alley. This is my first con this year, and hopefully my first SUCESSFUL con booth. I've got big hopes on hitting the local cons this year, and hoping this could be the first step to success.

Stop by and say hello if you're in the area, or if you have friends in the area, shove them in my direction. Wish me luck everyone, while I bring the bunnies to the 'Bama.

I did a local con this weekend, as well, and it all went better than I had expected. Sold a lot of original drawings. I hope you did well, too!

I won't go this year, I don't think his latest album is anything special.

Things went pretty well. I did have some complaints about visibility in the artist alley, but on the upside the staff actually listened to me. Commissions were the real hot ticket item this time around, as well as buttons. It seems either my most expensive or my absolute cheapest offerings are the best sellers.

On a whim i started making paper children, which caught the eye of a few people, resulting in me making an impromptu addition to my offerings. I'd suggest everyone look into getting a laminator because these little things are catching on. All in all it was a moderate financial success, and great for promotion. I gave away my entire stack of business cards.

Glad to hear you were successful! I haven't done any conventionwork myself as of now but a plethora of my friends do, and I understand that sometimes it's a crapshoot whether you do well or not (generally depending on the con size/location/date/whateverbla). Good for you!

Don't kid yourself, friend. I still know how.
