Anybody else having problems with FTP? (August 20th, 2 PM ES

I am. It takes a long time to tell me it won't work.
What does it mean for a program to be timed out?------------------

I didn't have this problem with the wu-ftpd server software they're using now, but ProFTPd was working great.However, I'm able to use the stock Berkley FTP to transfer ok. Hmmm...

Yeah, it was running slow for me yesterday as well - then CuteFTP decided to lock up my computer on me, then I rebooted, waited about a half hour, and tried again...working fine, now...*shrug*------------------

I'm getting a really slow connection to my FTP. Other then that, I can't even get into the image directory, it just stops responding and my FTP client ends up waiting for a long time before nothing happens.-Caster------------------

<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>I think "timed out" means it took so long for something to happen that the program kicked in a failsafe thing to stop the process from going on forever, in an endless loop of futility. But I'm not very 1337, so don't hold me to that.------------------

Yeah...I use Windows Commander (mainly cause it's more stable than dreamweaver 4's ftp client, which tends to crash my computer, and because it has a cool name). But it keeps timing out, so I can't log on. For a while it just would sit there trying to log on but nothing would happen. But now it just times out right away. And I attempted to ftp using Internet Explorer (which works in a pinch) but that gave me a blue screen of death, so I'm not gonna do that again. *tear* This means I won't be able to upload tommorows comic or my new site design ...hootanany and tarnation!

I dunno but, for some reason I tried to make another page for my site, and everything but the images work. I doubt i messed up a tag somewhere, because i just copyed the html from my index page which works fine. So i'm lost on that aspect. As for Cute_FTP, mines working fine, or fast at least.------------------

i cant get into my FTP at ALL. i try it through IE4 and Ws_ftp . i cant figure out what's wrong.
and i cant get in to change my password, settings, etc. it says there is major problems right now.

I can get into my memeber page, i just dont know how to ftp. i cant get through on ws_ftp, and when i click the "change keenspace database", i get this:
"We are experiencing major database problems. In the meantime, we need to shut down the user data system to ensure that updates keep working.Sorry for the inconvenience. We'll have it back up shortly."so is there just a problem i have to wait out, or another way i to get in? cos i just got the green light on my page this week.

i got it now. the only thing that sucks is i cant preview what i put up, becos my update timing is all wrong. i still cant get access to change settings, but i guess i'll have to wait it out.
my problems was the FTP i was using, WS_FTP, i dont think i had the fields right. but i got LeechFTP instead, and i got in.

I'm having trouble. Can't get into the FTP with the password (works on everything else tho) not even sure what has happened to my site, and I'm really really annoyed by the fact I can't get anything to work right... Apparently it's similar to everyone elses problem at the moment.------------------

I can't get into my ftp using Internet Explorer 5 and Aol 5, and every time I try It says the server cannot be found and the page cannot be displayed.

I can't get any FTP program to work! I downloaded SmartFTP and it won't work for me.

I tried using smartftp, and every time I try to cennect, my connection is refused, and then closed. why is keenspace refusing my connection?
