*Holds Resonant*
I understand your reasoning, Caster, and I have to say in all honesty that I think you're making the right decision.
Nonetheless, What/s A Life? will be very much missed by Res and myself, not only because it's been such a great comic - and you have every right in the world to feel proud of yourself - but because it was to all intents and purposes What/s A Life? that brought Resonant and myself together.
I hope the site stays up - and there's no reason it shouldn't - partly so that new readers will always have the opportunity to discover it; but also because, for Res and I, it will always be "our" site. We didn't actually meet here, but it was because of you that he first contacted me. And it was through this site that he knew of you.
You're a dear and special friend to both of us, Caster.
I know you're going to be busy, and I'd expect you won't have as much time to access the internet in the future, either; but I really hope you stay in touch, at least through your LiveJournal.
What/s A Life? will be sorely missed - I hope we don't wind up missing you too.
Thank you for what you've given the world, and thank you for what you've given me.
*Hugs*

Mostly definitely. I wont be touching the server and how it's up now. However, if KeenSpace wants to take down the site, it's all at their discrection. If they happen to ask me if it's okay to take it down, I'll ask them not too.
But it's most likely the site will be up for a long time since KeenSpace isn't known for "flushing" old stuff.
-Caster
------------------

Hi Caster. I was very surprised to read today's message that the comic will end, if not forever, than at least for an indefinite period of time. I understand why you want to stop; nevertheless, I will miss the comic very much. I think What/s A Life? was a part of my life for about a year, and I still remember the comic that you dedicated to me (#114!).
I hope to still see you around sometimes in the other Keen Forums, such as Avalon. And I'll check this site from time to time; haven't read the archives in a while myself.
Good luck with all of your endeavours, Caster!
~Ucchan
------------------

So what/s a life has gone on infinite hiatus. I think this is good. It's much better for the strip to end now, while it's still good, before it makes like ? and becomes just a desperate imitation of what it was. I have been a reader of the strip for quite some time. For a few months I was put off because of the bad rap the strip got from BBoCS, but soon, for some reason or another, I began reading. The Art in the strip has great visible improvement, more than any other strip that comes to mind. The characters are deep, but not too deep. The females are interesting for being more than just female versions of the male characters. When Lilith and Adam were introduced, games and real life were almost forgotten to be replaced with Donny's sex life and how he questons his sexuality, while Paul and otherguy occasionally enter the strip for a little lighter humor. It's odd how in the early strips, the crazyguy killed several people just to get in jail and meet an fbi chick ( a memorable strip ) but later, an issue was made out of him simply pulling a knife on Adam.
Half of the enjoyability of what/s a life was the author. Caster and myself pretty much wasted the summer nocturally hanging out in #webcomics, he would update his livejournal every hour, and I played a lot of Neopets, sometimes we idled, sometimes we waited for Roughnecks to come on. Since I could comicate with him in the chatroom so easily, I didn't really need to use this forum. Another cool time was when I was interested in joining that one guy's revolution, so Caster got the real-life counterpart of that guy to join the room and we talked about it for a bit. He was very similar to his strip counterpart. An even coolere memory is when I called Caster, we were both aware we live quite close to each other, and we were talking about phones or something, on impulse, I asked him for his number, he gave it to me and asked "why?" at the exact second it wrang. The conversation was pretty brief, but it was still neat and still brings a smile to my face when I think about it. Anyway, I rarely join #webcomics nowadays.
So Now What/s a life is over, I'll still link to it, cause it's possible the art gellery will still be updated (another place where the artist's improvement is very visible)
It's been fun.
And I do so hope that Pain^Infinity will continue, to me it seems a little... well, the style is very borrowed, but it's still interesting, and it stars a geek, and as somebody who may be a geek, I think it's nice to know that my life has the potential to get interesting, you know?
