Someone from '04 trying to get back in. [solved]

Post by James Thorpe »

Hi, way back in '00-'04, I was doin' Riboflavin; never quite finished it, kinda want to redo the whole thing someday and see it through, etc etc. Back then, this place was just Keenspace. Currently I'm wanting to retrieve the old files for my own study, and take it off the web while I think of what to do with it.
I'm having a look through the wiki and so on, but I'm still at a loss as to how I might log into the FTP, or Spacer's Gear or whatever is the interface for authors these days. I still remember my old password, but I don't know what my username would be -- it's not 'Riboflavin' or 'riboflavin.keenspace.com' (or 'riboflavin.comicgenesis.com'; I also tried both capitalised, as suggested... somewhere in all these disparate FAQs), or any of my usual combinations of name and initials. As such, I don't know if my old password would even apply. And that's my old author password -- I don't know if the KS/CG folks have consolidated forum accounts and author accounts, or anything like that. What can I do about regaining access to the editing side of my comic?

If you still remember your comic's password then try firing up an FTP program, putting in your comic's details (http://riboflavin.comicgenesis.com/ as the url, riboflavin as the username and your password) and that ought to let you in.

If that does not work, then try loging into SiteAdmin (http://siteadmin.comicgenesis.com/) and use your forum username and password to log in. Once in SoteAdmin, you'd be able to add your comic to your forum account, but for that you need the ftp password that might not have worked in Step One.

If you still have the original email working that you signed up in back in 2000 then you might be able to apply for a new password. If you don't have access to that email address, then your options will be vey limited...
