Simple and straightforward, I take the images of ancient manuscripts and add captions to them like a normal cut and paste web comic. Most involve Egyptian texts, but I also experiment with Aztec Codices and Japanese wall scrolls. http://serverustare.comicgenesis.com/d/20080101.html
I’m fairly new to the comic business, but eventually I’ll add more to the page than what the basic template presents to me.
I update on a "Whenever I feel like it" basis, However, I do have a fairly decent archive now.
Also, for other junk, check out the gallery.
That's quite clever. Can I suggest you extend the repertoire slightly, possibly Sassanian and Achaemenid reliefs, Chinese water colours, Roman and Greek wall paintings, etc. Maybe even a few neolithic cave paintings? Some of the jokes fell a bit flat, a lot of them were lame, some were simply delivered badly, but some were quite good - the shuffleboard what have the Ethiopian's got we haven't made me chuckle. As a rule I felt those that worked best were ones that made the reader feel like there was a bit of an in-joke going on such as the Anubis/Bastet image you gave.
