Curious. (Usernames and Ads)
Am I going crazy or has my handle never been capitalized before today?

Re: Curious.
I was going to ask you the same question, actually. I noticed that for rkolter too.
Look at your old threads you started below. It's not capitalized.

Re: Curious.
Maybe the suits decided the moderators would seem more authoratative if their names were capitalized. Which is nonsense. I exude authority from every pore.
Re: Curious.
There's been issues with signing into the Wiki with a lowercase name, and apparently capitalizing all names was the simplest solution. There's a thread or two in the Help Forum...

Re: Curious.
But my name doesn't make sense with only the first letter capitalized.

Re: Curious.
I've always said it in my head as 'eye vee studios" but it is supposed to be a roman numeral "4" yes. So I guess it didn't make sense in all lowercase either.

It actually seems to be having an identity crisis.

Hm. I know I'm not a help mod, but putting a note on the Wiki login screen saying "Capatalize the first letter of your name when logging in" seems like it would've been the simplest solution.KWill wrote:There's been issues with signing into the Wiki with a lowercase name, and apparently capitalizing all names was the simplest solution. Re: Curious.
Try, the wiki won't uncapitalize the first letter by any means and still work, therefor won't allow users who have lowercase first letters use the wiki at all. If it's an issue and you don't want to ever use the wiki, you can have an admin change it back.Yeahduff wrote:Hm. As for the ads, make suggestions now before they are permanent. Particularly placing.

Re: Curious.
Oh, OK. Not such a big deal for me (though maybe it will be later, I haven't had to login yet), so yeah.
Do you mean the ads at the bottom of the page? I'd say the only problem is the "Return to (forum name)" link is too small in the hierarchy and get completely lost with the ads there. A bolder and bigger font would be better.
Also, placing the link above the ads would be cool, but I imagine that would defeat the purpose.

Re: Curious.
Intentionally the bottom ads only appear on the viewtopic pages in a way that they would be seen, originally they were supposed to go between the reply button and the post counts (up one horizontal line) but it made the stuff below it all horribly aligned.Yeahduff wrote:Oh, OK. I think there's too much white space, the alexa box attempted to fill some of the space, but I'm having issues with that box being placed anywhere other than the bottom of the screen.

Yeah, the Alexa box isn't doing anything down there. I don't have a solution for the whitespace, I'm kind of having the same issue on my own page.

I just tried moving the text up again, it doesn't work in the prosilverCG theme, but works in the pink theme.
If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to make them.

Are you seriously gonna make me go to pink? I have a reputation to live up to here. They'll eat me alive.

Re: Curious. (Usernames and Ads)
I'm not sure how to make it work. if you put it vertical along the margins, it'd take away from the page viewing pleasure of people on smaller monitors. the best suggestion, would be if it could be capsuled with the same bordering as the themes. or even capsuled below the theme/forum information. the way it is now, it does kinda just look like riffraff at the bottom of my screen.Kisai wrote:If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to make them.
another suggestion.. as much as I for one, would probably be annoyed with... other forums seperate posts with the ads. would that be an option? at least it'd look a little better than where it is now. Granted the newsbox thing probably wouldn't go over to well like that.
ha ha. oh Yeahduff... come to the frilly side!Yeahduff wrote:Are you seriously gonna make me go to pink? I have a reputation to live up to here. They'll eat me alive.
