Oh, right. Yes. The bit where he hides was taken from that short story. Too bad they didn't keep the method by which they found it.

Actually, the whole movie could've been better if Dr. Calvin was the main character and she was investigating robot mysteries. Make it more a suspense/mystery rather than action.

Lol. I agree the movie is pretty lame compared to the book, but I still like it . I don't like Dr. Calvin in the movie at all though; she was boring.

Hang on, this just occured to me: Integra doesn't get a Star Wars reference, but she can understand an Isaac Asimov one?
Warren Ellis: I figure that the more of you there are around me, the more chance there is of the inevitable hail of bullets hitting you instead of me.

Dr. Kelso: In order to save us some time, I shall be calling all the males "Daves" and all the females "Debbies".
Debbie: Debbie is actually my name!
Dr. Kelso: Then in fairness to the others, you will be "Slagathor".

I think that particular Star Wars reference was kind of a stretch. Even I didn't get it, and I was raised on Star Wars. :'D

Are we talking about the Star Wars fan club that Walter turned up when researching "Millennium", or a different Star Wars reference?

That'd be easy to explain: Asimov is considered literature, so she probably read one or two of his books as a kid. Star Wars is considered more "pop SF," so it's unlikely she'd have made time for it in her studies. Remember that she didn't have a childhood like you or me and as a result isn't much of a geek.

Given her tendencies toward fierce independence, though, she probably would've liked Heinlein's books.

Or maybe Kouta Hirano just wanted to throw in a Star Wars reference. XD

Equally likely.

And, yay for getting Erin to draw Rippy's alarm clock.

*snerk*

Sorry, I realize it may not be the main joke, but the thought of a character named Rip van Winkle going to a mad scientist due to something concerning her alarm clock is just hilarious XD

Anyway, this does indeed help us in the quest to discover Heinkel's gender. He definitely saw something there that exciting him (although it may have just been him getting off on discovering something heretofore unknown). Now only if we knew Herr Doctor's sexuality...

If you open her, your face melts. Which must be pretty inconvenient.

Make of that what you will.

On one hand, we know he likes anime babes thanks to Hirano's extra artwork of him and the Major at Comiket. On the other hand, he created Schroe, a pinup boy for shouta lovers everywhere.

Looks like his nose bleed doesn't answer the question at all! (Which is, of course, exactly how I intended it.)

Wait... if the flowers confer the power to defeat demons, just what is that implying about the fangirl portal, and by extension, fangirls?

He should've used his other pickup line: "It's a great night for hunting!" then invited Integra to come with him to munch on ghouls.
