This is something that I am curious about, what is your take on using different fonts in a webcomic?
Basically, it's like this. In my webcomic, language is a very important part of the story. Therefore, there are 5 different languages being used at any given time. Currently, I use a different font for every different language. Is this acceptable? If not, is there any other way I can get across the fact that the language being used in a situation is either one or the other?
Multiple Fonts
Re: Multiple Fonts
Language or tone are both a good excuse for using different fonts in dialogue, in my opinion.
Re: Multiple Fonts
My strip features several different sentient species, and each of them uses a different font. The real problem is finding new fonts that are distinctive, appropriate to the species in question, and easily readable.
What's sorta sad is that my human characters still use Comic Sans, because I could never find anything I liked better...

Re: Multiple Fonts
I suppose another option you could explore would be to use different colors or shapes for the speech bubbles of the various languages. But your method seems okay, so long as the font isn't hard to read.
Re: Multiple Fonts
Check out old Pogo strips for nice font usage. Especially when Deacon Muskrat is around. And Walt Kelly did it all by hand!
