I am just about to ressucitate Agaric, and also to try my hand at a new style. I'd like advices on this new style as it is completely different from what I've done so far. (ETA: to be precise, that new style would be for a second comic, not to take Agaric's place.)
Here's the first strip I completed:
So... do you think it could work? Are featureless stick characters overdone on the interwebz? Do they look somewhat "lively" nonetheless? Does the font suck? I suck at fonts...
Sorry, it just looks lazy to me =/ Like, you decided to do silhouettes instead of real drawings in order to save time. Note that these aren't stick-figures per se, as the anatomies are generally correct, so it doesn't even have a minimalist or post-modern appeal. The joke is also weak which hurts the strip a lot since the art is boring to look at.
"Seems like the only comics that would be good to this person are super action crazy lines, mega poses!"
It is okay. It is probably not something I would follow. It took me some to figure out that the "hair" was a beard and not another character. There is not enough expression in the characters, which is a consequence of "no faces."
Weirdly enough, doing this took me about as much time as doing an Agaric strip, so it doesn't even save me time. But I understand how it can give this impression. I'll see if I can kick things up a notch or two, so that it doesn't give the impression I am slacking off and to make the characters... er, "clearer", for lack of a better term.
