Finished mine. I know myself well enough to know that, if I didn't get it done now, I would have waited until the night of the 14th. Which would have been bad, since that's Finals week.

Sixth. I was assigned a strip I was already familiar with. Bad side: Didn't get exposed to something new. Good side: I also didn't have to do much archive trawling to come up with an idea.
I also did a quick drawing for Dutch. So he won't get totally stiffed this year, at least.
Now I just need to go buy all my real Christmas presents...
I am very happy about my assignment!
I am reading the archives right now!
I may still do it last minute...Yesh..When I am up in Scotland, on a cold winter night with a hot cup of coffee!!

looking at the archives - and working on the set -
unlike my "standard" panels this is going to be a "full" render
just need to find a few more bits -- then get everything right .. then start the render and leave my comp alone for 5 hours *sigh* hates ray traceing and point lighting -

No, but it's good to have a deadline. Since, well can't speak for anyone but me, without it I'd just keep going "Oh I've got time, I've got time." And then suddenly it's the 25th and YIPES! It's not done!
This way, one has a goal, and even if we don't finish it on the 15th, at least it'll still get done well before the 25th.
Depends on he kind of person you are, I guess. I get more stressed by having stuff in the back of my mind that I need to do, even if it's not due for months. I'm always worried I'll forget about it, or won't do it in time. So, sooner is much less stressful than later, and I need deadlines to tell me just when "sooner" is.

The 15th is the date when we can start posting, not the absolute deadline. If you don't trust your own work ethic it might be best to think of it as a deadline, though.
I would imagine that the actual deadline would be Christmas Day, with anything posted afterwards considered "late." It's just like all other Christmas gifts.
"Seems like the only comics that would be good to this person are super action crazy lines, mega poses!"
I've got my submission drawn, I just need to color it. (Probably in 12 days)
I'm also trying out different line widths- thicker to bring attention to the characters I'm actually doing this for, and thinner for other things.
