400 error

Post by OfNaturalOccurrence »

Hey, so I'm trying to set up an extra comic site for myself for my one-shot, random comics and when I try to follow through to http://siteadmin.comicgenesis.com:8080/ ... eation.cgi I get this error:

400 Bad Request
Your client has issued a malformed or illegal request.

Any reason why I'm getting this? I've been trying since yesterday.

You should be using the 'new' site admin:
http://siteadmin.comicgenesis.com/login.php

That one has been deprecated for a couple of years and has been basically deactivated.

But that's to log in, not to activate an account. Sorry I didn't make that clear. That's the link I got in the email.

That's the link to the old siteadmin. (notice how it says 'siteadmin' in the link). Just try the new one. It should work.

The link works fine --but what I'm trying to do is use my activation code. And seeing as this new comic isn't set up yet, I don't have any details to log in with. :/

Sometimes you just have to wait for things to process through the system. I think it took me about a month to get my site all set up when I first joined. (Of course, I accidentally deleted my 'welcome' email...)

Page works for me.

Try it again if you haven't done so already. There was a bit of a hiccup earlier on which may have been what was blocking you.

NakedElf: so you know, OfNaturalOccurrence is talking about activating the account from the very beginning. If OfNaturalOccurrence does nothing, the application gets deleted and they'll have to start again...

Tried it again and it worked for me.
  • Try disabling firewalls / antivirus.
  • Check your browser settings for any site blockages.
  • Try from a different computer.
It's kinda important that you verify soonish, as otherwise you'll need to re-apply all over again...

Right. I'm still getting the error, but I managed to get a friend to verify it for me, so it's OK. Thanks for the help.
