[ADMIN] Nightly autoupdates broken

Post by STrRedWolf »

Okay, folks. I know the autoupdater is broken. My comic didn't update ether overnight. :(

For the time being, use Siteadmin or Quickadmin to trigger an update. Kisai and I will look at why it's not triggering updates overnight like it should be (although it won't be until late tonight when I can get to it).

Hey, as long as I can still update manually, I'm more than happy to be patient while you fix it. After all, I know you're doing this all out of the goodness of your heart (and a desire to not have to manually update your own comics). Thanks for yours and Kisai's efforts! :D </brownnose>

Hey everyone! Come check out Adventures of the S-Team! </shameless self-promotion>

I added a generator tag to the RSS to figure out why it's supposedly not updating and figure out which/why are.

I think I found the problem, and damned why we didn't have this problem 3 years ago, might be in autokeen, or something changed in autokeen between July 17th and now.

... something WAS changed on the 11th, but damned if I know what.

EDIT:
Since I can't figure out what channged, I've added some improvements.
Autokeen now generates a hash list of the comic files, I intend at some point to use this so that it doesn't sit there and regenerate all the files all the time. This in theory should solve the "there is a hole in my archives" problem.

as a user you can download comichash.sha1 and use FCIV on windows, or similiar file hash check tools on other operating systems to see if any of your comics are corrupt without having to download all the comics again.

To generate/re-generate the hash file, simply delete the hash file and run an update.
