[ADMIN] Let's do the Time Warp again! DNS moved over.

Post by STrRedWolf »

Nate just got back from a trip and switched the DNS over last night, so your site will be rather old! Plus, services may be clogged.

THIS IS KNOWN AND WILL BE FIXED LATER TODAY!

I will be traveling back home today from Anthrocon, and won't be able to get everything updated and the updater back up until this evening. Kisai probably will get things set up before I can get in there.

Ether way, welcome to the new server. All sites save for the Wiki and Forums now point to that server.

can we have a rough ETA on when the new siteadmin will be back up and running?

k what has happened so far, is that if you had a custom domain, it moved over ... but the comicgenesis.com domain didn't. So if you didn't have a custom domain, it only moved sometime today which means you probably won't see it on the new server till sometime tomorrow if you DNS system updates right.

FYI, DNS is updated so us East Coast US furs can wake up at 5:30am and see the site moved over. For me it's "See DNS moved over fully, mutter under breath, and grumble that you need coffee and it's too hot out there for it."

If I use GoDaddy.com to change my domain to logocomic.com, would that be considered a custom domain? because I just checked and it still hasn't moved over. should I just wait until tomorrow to see if everything updates and changes accordingly?

My site is still stuck in two weeks ago. None of my comics for this week are showing up yet. :(

Damn you Domains

So hopefully those of us with custom domains will be completely switched over after the rest are?

This is strange, the bandwidth graphs remain unchanged, like DNS isn't updating at all.

I can confirm that DNS has changed on my side. ISP's may be overriding CG's DNS and caching it for a longer period of time. :(

Anyway, I'm going to fire off a resync of Butch to Cecilia.

k, about 90 minutes ago a large portion of traffic switched from the old server to the new server. So that leaves ISP's that are being slow.

I repeat, if you aren't hitting the new server at .20 then your ISP is taking it's sweet time.

Ok, this might just be me being thick, but...

Why can't I access my comic files via my FTP program? I wouldn't mind much, but I'm going away soon, and I want to upload comics for the next week.

And why has the last update been removed?

Nobody has responded to questions about Siteadmin, yet. Any ETA on that being fixed yet? I've tried logging in so I can update my index page and archive pages, and I still can't get in. FTP is fine, regular updates are ok.

It's times like this I need a CS macro:

1. http://siteadmin.comicgenesis.com?&logout , click cancel.
2. logout and login to the forums if you haven't done it since the 11th.
3. http://siteadmin.comicgenesis.com CASE SENSITIVE login

unlike the phpBB login, which is not case senstitive, this is ,because it encrypts stuff.
