Or, you know, nothing. He would have been just as interesting to a toddler without the giant hand-cannon.
Are you kidding? I LOVED giant hand cannons when I was a kid.

You guys remember when toy pistols were all the rage? Everyone had cap guns and metal revolvers and stuff. Now if you ask a toy shop cashier if they have toy guns, they get all high and mighty and crap. Damn them!
I never had toy guns (being a girl and all . . . but I did get my hands on some water pistols and nerf shooters, so all's well), but my friend and her brother had some toy guns that were made of wood, but with metal hammers and triggers. You could actually pull back the hammer, and fire them for a nice, metallic snap. They were AWESOME. They had like, three different kinds too.

I played paintball once, and I was terrified. Then when we started playing I was all "OMG this is AWESOME!"

Shooting things is fun. I made a bow and arrow out of tinkertoys when I was a kid. I always wanted a slingshot like Dennis the Menace. And I'm a girl. I don't think it has anything to do with boys or girls, I think that if your kid likes that kind of thing, they will find a way. It's just better to give them squirt guns and noise things that don't actually fire projectiles.

But the whole cuddly baby toy gun? It reminds me of that cartoon gun on, I think, the Simpsons, where Homer gets a gun and there's that NRA safety video with the little boy hugging the cartoon gun who was all sad because congress wanted to pass more gun control laws, or something.

...if anyone could follow that, anyway.

I last time I played, I got shot just under the mask on the corner of my jaw from about three feet away. Then, the same person shot me again in the throat.

That was unpleasant.

I got shot in every bare spot on my body. Then I shot some guy in the jugular, twice, in quick succession. That was awesome. He bled... Sorry, sadism is showing

I imagine the thing that kept him from strangling you, much as it kept me from strangling the kid that shot me, was that he couldn't breathe. Or, possibly a piece of paintball creating a blockage in his heart.

Nature figures that at age 18, you've had more than enough time to successfully procreate, so it allows your mental capacities to slowly decline from then on...that's why people start to show more and more childish behaviour from their third decade onwards.
