50 comics since September

Post by Sortelli »

Awhile ago I remember worrying that I'd never last long enough to get the 20 comics required for a pitch, and now I'm well over that. I'm not sure how many I have total now since I started counting fresh when I rebooted and I guess I'm somewhere near the 300 mark. And although the comic's had the same name and the same cast since 2002, it's really, really changed.

I'm very happy with where Elf Only Inn is going right now and I've recieved pretty much nothing but positive feedback. At the same time, however, I seem to be losing readers (either that, or I wasn't gaining any and people learned to only check MWF nights for updates).

So for youse guys that never saw it before, please do check it out--I'd recommend starting in September 2006 since that's the new stuff that I am most comfortable with but people seem to love all that insane cut and paste stuff despite its cheesiness, so you might enjoy seeing a very dramatic change in development.

I'd also appreciate any hard feedback on what I can do better, particularly if given with lots of these awesome new frowny emotes. :x :x :x (I love these things!)

Ay, the art is really great, but I am slightly disappointed by how the tone of the comic changed dramatically when the cast got thrown into MoG. You acknowledged (sp?) yourself that this storyline hasn't provided many occasions for laugh, and while I have nothing against more serious comics, the fact the tone changed so abruptly made it hard for me to get into the new style and story. I don't think new readers jumping in would have a problem with the comic, but older readers may not find in the new EOI what they used to like in the old EOI.

Don't get me wrong, I still like EOI; but I think this may be one reason why you are losing readers. As for what you can do better, I don't know... Keep on doing what you like? If I really must be nitpicky, sometimes the comic is a little too crowded, I wouldn't mind it being a bit bigger.

I think it's a good comic overall. It's not something that really interests me, due to the fact that I avoid RPG chats and only have a vague idea of what you're talking about. Although the copy-and-paste part in the beginning was fun, mostly 'cause I know exactly the types of people you're talking about.

Also, I don't think the style change is a big deal at all. It's still in the same vein, just with much better artwork! :)

Oh wait.. you like frowns.

I think I'll give you 8/10 frowns!

:x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :) :)
