I dunno. I think accordions have more of an image problem than bagpipes. Nobody plays the accordion at policemen's funerals. Nobody plays the accordion while marching in formation during parades... that I know of....
Plus your stereotypical bagpipe player (burly Scotsman in a tartan kilt) could easily beat up your stereotypical accordion player (reedy geek in a checked coat).
But as far as I'm concerned they're both good instruments... although if I had to pick one to learn to play it'd be the bagpipes. Sorry accordion, but my Celtic ancestry casts the deciding vote on that one.
(Although I suppose my Italian ancestry could get behind a concertina.)

Mine was acquired by being held up to my game boy, in the bathroom, for better acoustics. It's Calcobrena from FFIV.EmergencyExit wrote:I have a recording of the victory theme from Chrono Trigger/Cross (Fanfare 1). How many ants have I eaten in the last week? One.

I was going to change my ringtone but decided not to. Just to annoy Bob.Mr.Bob wrote:Pet peeves:
People who have their ringtones as either:
1: The Doodoodoo-doo, Doodoodoo-doo, Doodoodoo-doo doooo Nokia tune. You and every bloody Nokia owner on the train. It's not so hard to change it to something else. DO us all a favour and save yourself the trouble of diving to your coat whenever some other Wally's phones goes off.
