DitLoaC aka Day in the Life of a Cosplayer

Post by MinekaC. »

It currently has aprox. 20 pages of actual comics, plus some other shtoof.
But.....
http://ditloac.comicgenesis.com
DitLoaC is the story of Litalra, a half-deamon who, in order to move up a rank needs to spend one year manning Hells post office in NYC. Due to a a new law, all dark entities that are to reside in majour metropolitan areas (NYC, Seattle, Cairo, Tokyo, you get the idea) have to room with a member of the opposite faction. In other words: a member of Heaven. However, do to a slight filing error, instead of rooming with a member of Heaven, Litalra ends up rooming with Yitsana, a regular human girl; and the epitome of anime shoujo-ness, and rather irritating with her good intentions truth be told.
As of right now the story simply follows Yitsana and Litalra's interactions with each other. But it is a story-story, not alot of one page gags, though I try to make it as funny as I can, but I'm not that good at it. Least for the most part the spelling and grammer is pretty decent. Heh?

Please, take a look at it, and let me know what you think, any opinions on it, so long as they're truthful and delivered in a polite manner shall be well appreciated. Thank you.
I would've included a pic, but I'm on dial-up and I couldn't find a picture I liked as well as followed the rules of size.
But if you want to know what the style is, just look at my signature. *smiles*
Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to not only read this post, but also the time you may or may not spend perusing my comic.
Oh, and sorry for adding yet another anime-styled comic to the world.

I actually like this. I'll definitely check in from time to time to see how it's progressed. :)

*hugs* Thank you, that really means alot to me. *hugs you again* I was so worried no one would look at it simply because it's anime-esq. *wipes away a tear* Thank you for proving me wrong. *hugs you again*

It's pretty good and your style is cute. But I don't have the patience to read all you wrote under the strips. you should make a news section and post there all news. ;)
If I read those, I lose the line of the comic.

True true. Yea, I have trouble just understanding what's going on between pages in the time it takes the new one to load, let alone read something under a strip.
I guess I kind of had those to just be "meh, if you're bored here, you can read this." I'm rather surprised some people read them truth be told.
Hrmm, the news idea is interesting, but that likely requires more html skill then I can hope to gather. Maybe I'll just do away with the boxes all together. Righto, from now on, no more boxes of text under the pages (well, not counting those I'd already typed up.) Heh. Thank you for your input, it's most useful. *hugs*

I'm really interested to see where the story line goes.. but what I really like is how you use facial expressions. The use of very subtle eye changes, eyebrows, etc.. You do a really good job getting mood across with that. Kudos..

"My secret to happiness is that I have the heart of a 12 year old child.. I keep it in a jar over there..wanna see it?" -Old Vaudeville.. really old vaudeville..

What the? I DO?! Whoa. I didn't notice that *looks at some of the comics*
I'm not seeing this. Personally I think I tend to re-use the same facial expressions over-and-over again. I feel like at some point I could just start copy and pasting from old strips, and no one would notice.
Which of course results in me trying to fix this. But I have started to put in realy BGs, at least whilest in doors.
I don't think I'll ever have the patience to draw full buildings. *hugs screentones*
Thank you, you're being horribly nice about all of this, when the comic is nothing in comparisson to yers.

i wouldn't worry about that! what's cool is that you, unlike most, follow the panel and lettering conventions of manga. not only copying their style of drawing people! this really adds to vadility of "another manga" cause that's most of what makes them cool!

people love MANGA! so much so that....sometimes you get accused of doing manga when you don't, (this happens to me alot cause of the name fo my comic!) and it's not really manga at all!

anyways. keep up the good work, i'll be reading!

*sniffels*
I love you.
Truly, I don't know any other way to do panels, since doing the same box shape over and over again is just icky. I need to start having my characters popping out of the boxes more so though, which by around late January should make it's first appearance, and hopefully countinue to do that now and again.
I'm sorry you got accosted for being attacked on being manga-isq, when yer not. As being someone who has reason to be attacked, and loathing it, I can understand both the irritation, aggrevation, and flat out biggotry that comes with having a comic that even sounds like it might, in some remote way, be nippon-isq. *sighs* But then, everyone is a critiq, neh? Heh! Which is why we post in this forum!
