At long last, here is the tentative list of comics to be featured in next year's Free Comic Book Day book! I still haven't received official confirmation from a few members whose names are in red, a few members may still be unsure whether they want to do one or two pages, and there may be an artist or two I'd like to sneak in if possible, so this list may change by the end of this week. I would like to lock this list down soon, though, so we can determine how many pages we have left to sell to sponsors after we allocate the rest for an introduction to Comic Genesis, a table of contents, a tutorial on making web comics (courtesy of Joel Fagin), and a page for Keenspot. Names in bold have been picked to be on the cover, so if you have any second thoughts on being in the book, speak now or forever hold your peace.

For those of you left out of this year's book, I'm sorry I couldn't include everybody who wanted in. The main reason most of you were left out was because your comics are still rather new and undeveloped, and I've learned that the comic you're doing now will not be the same one you'll be doing in a year from now. I hope you'll be back again next year!

And now, here is the list:

One-page comics
  1. Astorauth (Robin Pierce)
  2. Ataraxia (Ataraxia)
  3. Darken (Komiyan)
  4. Distant Eras (Kat North)
  5. Edible Dirt (katmaidog)
  6. Eight to One (YeahDuff)
  7. Emergency Exit (NJ Huff)
  8. Fallen Angels Used Books (FAUB)
  9. Foxfire Chronicles (Turnsky)
  10. Head Doctor (StinkyWigFiddle)
  11. Imo (Cookie)
  12. Man who hates fun (Glambourine)
  13. Phil Likes Tacos (Lord Andy)
  14. Pocket Kitten (KrisX)
  15. Reasoned Cognition (Ryan Kolter)
  16. Role of the Die (Jim North)
  17. Shenanigan (Lego and Pimpette)
  18. Superfreaks (Net, 834n, NJ Huff)
  19. Tales of Pylea (Humbug)
  20. Treading Ground (Tenma)
  21. Ugly Girl (Nanda)
Two-page comics
  1. Aldus Maycombe (Keffria)
  2. Cortland (Matt Johnson)
  3. Doppies (Cookie & Robin)
  4. End of things (PeppermintAfterlife)
  5. Green Avenger (Ryuko)
  6. Inhumation (IVStudios)
  7. Knights of Vesteria (Tdot)
  8. Reckless Youth, Hellroy (RYClaude)
  9. Tales of the Traveling Gnome (Michelle)
Congratulations to those who got in, now let's get ready to make this thing happen!

For those who weren't able to get in, don't fret. We've done our own grass-roots Comic Genesis-only samplers before. It doesn't cost any money, but you have to handle all the printing and distribution yourself.

faub usually handles the project, but he doesn't seem to be around much lately. Just keep an ear out in case we get another one started.

PS. I can't wait to see that cover. :)

So does this mean Jim and I each get a page (assuming he agrees, of course)? While ago I was thinking that we were just gonna split one page, but this is even better! :D

Claude, you can be on the cover. I think we had you down as a "maybe." And Kat, if you and Jim don't mind splitting a page, that does mean we could let one more artist into the mix. Give him a poke for me if you could. :D

Dang, didn't make it in.

Back to the drawing board to do it on my own, then--now instead of two pages I'll have to do something a little bit longer ::eep:: But as long as I have momentum going, I might even get started tonight. If nothing else, this thread was a good jumpstart. :P

I chickened out on Free Comics Day last year, but this year I'm determined. I'm sure there are sites out there that give advice on distribution for the day. Time to start researching!

SPQR, you have an awesome comic, and I think you could make a great addition to the book. My only reason for not including you is that you're still very new to Comic Genesis and I wanted to give preference to those with seniority. If we get an open spot, however, you are on the list to fill it. :D

Thank you muchly for the compliment, and thank you for putting me on the waiting list :)

I do think of this as a good motivation to get my act together this year.

Okay, for those who have been chosen for the cover, I'll be picking the main character of your comic. If you wish me to draw someone else, let me know. Do it fast though, I'm already at the planning stages.
