Animated panels

I have been experimenting with animated panels this week and have gotten some good feedback from my readers.

While this won't be a frequent thing, I am thinking of doing an occassional "animated week" every now and then.

You've done it well - nothing that affects the timing of the comic itself. Just background effects. You can still read at your own pace.

Yup yup.

A lot of people go overboard with animation, to the point where it's distracting. But these rain effects are pertinent to the entire strip even if the motion DOES cause a reader to sight it first. Very smart and tasteful.

Wow, that was a fast response! Thank you both. I agree that having the animation take over would be a bad idea. As I get more comfortable with the technique, I can see how I would have to reign myself in from overdoing it.

I like the subtlety as well. Also, on my painfully slow dialup, it loaded quickly, so no irritating delays and such.
