I guess this has been around for years, but I only heard of it yesterday:

Looks like it could be useful to some artists for constructing backgrounds, architecture etc. You might have to sketch over the final image to make it fit your own drawing style, but it would take all the faff out of getting the perspective and shadow placement right.

As 3D modelling programs go, it's dead easy to use.

For nice and easy 3D, I usually use MLCad with LDraw. It's a Lego-style brick modeling program. Link:

The setup is probably a bit more complicated than sketchup, but there's nothing that beats the feeling of playing with blocks, is there?
