When you FTP:
- You will FTP into your test comic's account, via the test comic's domain. "ftp.comicgenesis.com" and "butch.comicgenesis.com" WILL NOT WORK. Your comic will be on the forum server.
- You will find a new file named .lastupdate (if you don't see it, don't freak out, that's normal), and a new directory (premium_temp). DO NOT REMOVE THEM. AutoGenesis will slow down if you keep removing them.
- Also, if you're using the weekly archives, the weekly template is moved to /workspace/weeklytemplate.html (where it should be). Remember, they still will land into the PREMIUM protected area of the site.
Tag changes:
- These tags have been removed: monday, daily_archive, set_yesterday, set_today, advertisement_size, last_3/5/7, keenspace_dropdown
- ***next/last_day_arc*** will act like ***next/last_day*** but will stay inside the archives, and never point to the front page.
- ***year_calendar*** actually acts like the same -- it just will last longer w/o having me or Kisai have to add 2007/2008/2009/etc...
- ***include file*** is now processed first -- all include tags are run first before the rest of the bunch. This tag is hereby called a preprocessing tag.
Last fiddly bits
- You use newer Siteadmin to request updates, but you cannot use it to upload your comic. You MUST FTP.
- Updates are checked for every 10 minutes.
- Daily updates are active.
Now... if you want to test AutoGenesis out, post here with your comic's username OR .comicgenesis.com URL. If you have a third party domain, we can put in a subdomain for you (like I did -- yes, I've put my comic in for testing AutoGenesis). Ether way, we will copy your comic over, copy the password over to a new username, and give you the new username (which will probably be the old one followed by "sandy" or "test").
I'll be creating them roughtly at the end of the week, and checking weekly. I really need this tested, because this WILL replace AutoKeen.
