Hey hey now, don't beat the writer with a gun... you might put the sights out of alignment. We want him to write more, not spend the evening with a concussion :P

Two things:

1. Dang straight, you'll put the sights out of alignment! Don't go messin' a gun up on my account. ;p

2. Brock, "raiding alien empires for ice cream?" Awesome. :D

And a note, that ain't New York in the story. ;p All gets revealed, however... Once I write it.
I really don't care anymore.

Odd that they would feel no lux, I thought that would be only if there were no living things nearby. Still, great story!! Now, are they in New York, Miami, Los Angeles, Veracruz, Tokyo, Tel Aviv, Acapulco, San Francisco, Sydney, Perth, Barcelona, New Orleans, or maybe even Galveston?

One thing I didn't get was the description of what was the thing in the sky, instead of the moon.
Great job keep it up.

It's the Death Star! XD

No, actually, I think it really is the moon. But instead of being gray, it's blue and white...?

I kinda think of the moon as already being grayish white.

Gah, my coloration skills stink.
The moons of aerith, FYI, are pretty much the same color and albedo as the RL moon.

Another thing. The smaller one has about the same apparent diameter as the RL moon.... the larger one has TWICE the apparent diameter (it looks twice as big. Think "Ridiculously huge anime moon," almost.) They wouldn't have been startled by the moon so much as they would have been startled by the fact that "the BIG moon is missing."
"What was that popping noise ?"

good story. nothing I read felt odd or missaid (which I feel is a weakness of my own writing) I wish I could guess at some of the descriptions more.

why is it that TOTQ seems to attract so many interdimensional stories though? :D
I still say the doctor did it....

I guess we're just naturally presuming it's Earth - there's not much in the story that says it's 21st Century America. Sure, they have helicopters and airliners and high-rises, but that doesn't mean it's Earth...

Imagine the Racs if they were taken on a tour of an orbital or underwater city. They'd be like :o
