Can't see latest update - can you?

Post by UncleMonty »

The image at:

...isn't showing for me as of 7:00pm PDT on July12th.

Which is making my brain jump around inside of my skull, and nobody likes THAT...

What version browser? Can it display other PNG format files?

(Otherwise I can't help you. It works fine for me.)

Did you post a direct link to it here, on another forum, or on your website, say with < img > tags or an html "img src" command? Comic Genesis has software which prohibits direct linking, and if you use direct linking, it locks your IP addy out from viewing the image file. That's the only reason I can come up with...

If it doesn't show up at first, I always press ctrl+F5. Then it usually shows up.

Why didn't he hang the fog lantern BEFORE going out of the Mistwall?

Okay, that's interesting... It works just fine for me now, just two hours later.

Never mind. Just one more in a long series of technological mysteries one may sometimes find... In the Twilight Zone.

Off-topic, but when I first saw the sail on the front of Quentyn's luftship, I wondered "why?" since it wouldn't effect either the speed or direction of the ship... Then I realized - It keeps the stern of the ship facing into the wind! Like a weathervane. That would certainly make the trip more comfortable than if the entire ship was rotating with each varying gust of wind.
Nice little technical detail!

I think this is a chapter ending... I like this page, a lot.

Several possibilities:

1) Oversight. He didn't need it until *after* going through the mist wall, and people tend to avoid it. Could be he did not expect anyone to see, and didn't think of it.

2) The magic of the lantern was incompatible with the mistwall and the mist wall pass.

3) Someone else made his plan of action, and they said to put it out after the mist wall because of oversight.

I fear many things, amongst them is the idea that Quentyn goes on his quest and comes home only to find out that the expansionists won over and did their thing which caused the seven villages to get discovered and overrun with enemies from outside...

..probably just paranoia but knowing that doesn't make it go away.
I still say the doctor did it....

For some reason, I can't help but feel that his position in that situation would be comparable to a Marine coming home from Vietnam or Iraq, and finding that the entire political climate has changed without him knowing a thing about it. Or the Fellowship returning to the Shire to find you-know-who in charge of everything.

It's very likely that Quentyn would hear of it before any major expedition got launched. He's probably smart enough to make friends out there, travelers who would pass on tidbits of news and anything about the mistwall would be news Quentyn would want to know.

That's not a bad analogy actually. It pretty much would be the same situation. :shifty: Including the idiots who decided to go along with every bad decision...
I'm lost. I've gone to find myself. If I should return before I get back, please ask me to wait. Thanks.

Now we see that the little moon is the closer of the two (or else it would have been in eclipse). That might have been shown in the original two moons panel, I forget. BTW, they should not always be so close in the sky. Half the time, each one will not even be visible. Usually, they should be at wildly different places in the sky.
