Or Prince Albert doing the can-can.

I just love our "can do" attitude here.

I'll go out on a limb and speculate that it says a couple more things.

A) Gunpowder is not commonly used for weapons. (It may not even be available to those Outside, but that's a different issue.) Why? Because on Earth, once even the early muskets became available in quantity, armor stopped being an effective protection.

B) Magic is rare. Considering the potential for tossing electricity or heating metal, I'll apply the same logic as in "A" and say storming a wizard's stronghold while covered in metal is a good way to get targeted.

Ralph does pay attention to us, though. I -still- need to order the CD - did he have the western Mistwall covered in storms before we discussed the weather effects of it here?

Not unless he hits one of the crew. Hitting the ballon would only cause a slow leak, remember?
Flaming arrows might be another story though.

I can't think up anything to add.
It does not take a majority to prevail ... but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men. - attributed to Samuel Adams

I Cannae believe how little prodding we need here.

Maybe you need to practice? Try a few canticles or a cantata or two.

Crossbows were considered disreputable weapons and no knight would be caught dead with one of them. There were times they were even under papal edict.

Well, of course. It was the medieval equivalent of bringing a gun to a knife fight.

Ah, so they had useful idiots back then, as well. *Shakes head* "Hey, that gives you an unfair advantage! How dare you be better than I!"

Still, they DO have bowmen, possibly longbowmen. The latter'll be nasty to face off against.
