Many Tidings Grim

Post by Corgan_dane »

It's been a looooong time since I pitched here, and Many Tidings Grim just hit 100 comics, so I figure it's time.

Many Tidings Grim is the story of a small alien who crash lands on a dead planet, where he meets a Grim Reaper with a somewhat mysterious past, a holographic computer girl, and a dinosaur with a rather limited vocabulary. As time passes, it's beginning to seem like his crash landing there might not have been a mistake at all...

Can you say "Dimensional Daisies?"

I liked this one

Okay, I think your comic is fairly clever and amusing in a number of ways. Its funny in the same way the John Lovitz used to play Satan on SNL.

One thing that you should improve on is the vertical set up of your strip. It's kind of annoying have to scroll down every page to read the whole strip. Try doing it like the sunday strips in the newspapers.

I only recently read through the archive... Sweet comic! Love your style, especially in the more recent strips. I'm definitely going to keep reading. ;)

And congrats on hitting 100! I should draw you some anniversary art when I find the time... or rather, IF I find the time... >_>;

Anyway, much wuv for MTG! <3

Um... no?

If he did that, you wouldn't be able to just use the scroll on your mouse. You'd have to go down to the bottom of the screen, click the scroll bar, move it over--it's just a little more work, but it's far more irritating than when you can just wind your finger over a wheel.

Anyway, MTG kicks ass. The characters are amusing and there's a lot of imagination. Lots of interesting flashbacks too--considering there have been so many, I hope we just keep getting them for consistency's sake :P.

Aweseome.

As for the scrolling down thing, I can't get the level of detail I want if I make the strip smaller and compress it into a size that would fit most monitors and require no scrolling. People HATE side scrolling. So I've chosen the lesser of two evils. Also, I personally like the scrolling down thing because I can't see the last panel before I get there to read it.

Cookie: Glad you like it. :D (hoards the wuv)

Escushion: I am the flashback king at the moment, I suppose. Pretty soon we'll get rid of the flash part and just be back. *cryptic plot hint grin*

Yeah, I started reading it again about a month or so back after letting it drift for a while. I still think the highlight of the canon is the 80s one hit wonder. :D

That one is a lot of people's favorite, actually. I hated doing that one in a way, because at the time I felt it was sort of...topical humor...if that makes any sense. I've always wanted to keep the dry humor in the comic timeless.

Hi There!

The art style is good, but I'm not sure about the semi-controversial topics you tackle. The writing is also excellent!

Oh, wow. :o Very nice comic. The pacing, the humor, the art . . . I like it! You have a new reader. ^^

. . . By the by, do you have a banner that I can use to link out to you?

I dunno, it's not like advocating the worship of these ideas. Also aliens are a likelyhood if not a certainty so not quite a controversy =p

I think you meant the aliens bit but if I'm wrong sorry. As far as I know there isn't really any controversy about aliens. If life can exist on this planet, then there is no reason why life can not exist on other planets as well. Given that a star has a chance for a planet to circle it, and the chance that a planet may have life on it. Somewhere out there in the mass of innumerable stars and planets there has to be life on at least SOME of them. So aliens are a logical probability, simply because there are so many chances for them to arise. I doubt we'll be metting them soon, but I personally am confident in the fact that on some distant planet creatures struggle to survive just as they do here.
