Never was one for Anime. But I've my reasons.. mostly that stem from it being such a cliche now... I can't click through some galleries without every other picture being anime inspired or what have you. Then there's the people that run around going "NEKKO NEEKO WAI!!!" *eye twitch* Because it's what was done on their favorite anime.
Let's not forget that *every* other cartoon on saturday mornings is anime or inspired by the style...
Then there's those on Furc.. that use anime pictures for their chara's... or use anime names.. (Movie/TV show/Japan console game chara) I swear I see more people named Sephiroth or Inu Yasha/Inu whatever or Kagnome..
Mmn.. yeah, I totaly ranted
Anyways.. you can like it.. that's totaly fine I'm just one of the few who rather try to stay away from it. Granted... I will say that I *do* enjoy Coyboy Beebop... that and Ghost in the shell. I can actually watch them without going into convulsions.
Much like the rum-filled cougar, I'm also not into anime, although there have been some instances of anime I've liked... (If I could just get the Tezuka film "Space Firebird" on DVD, I'd be a happy mouse...)
Huh, I'm interested inn the Japanese language and contemporary culture, but not anime... Go figure.. o.o
I've been to furry cons, but can't afford it... Went into serious debt ($2k) on my last one in '97...
I've been a furry all my life, and that's longer than MOST in here. (IRL, I'm 40, and understand "anthro" since I was all of 2, which means I've been furry longer than there has been a furry fandom, often considered to have started around the time of the original release of Disney's "Robin Hood", in 1973. (Was involved in a local furry gathering between '85 and '91.))
So, yeah, been through alot of it...
But I'm STILL just a mouse. Better off that way, tick fewer people off, etc.
^^; well, I'm not really into the mainstream anime either. There are many manga/anime out there that are much much better than what is released in the US. Most of the stuff released in the US has been edited, cut and spliced to fit a certain age group/gender. It's not the true vision of the artist. Also, if you don't like anime itself, you should try picking up a manga(usually the original comic book that came before the anime). They're usually unedited, and it's all the authors thoughts and depictions.
You can find a manga section in most Barnes&Nobles, and Waldenbooks.
o.OMy mind isn't in the gutter.It can't reach that high.O.o
