Lightbringer: The World's First Superhero

Post by Linkara »

Well, it might not be the first superhero comic to grace ComicGenesis, but in the little world I've created, behold the world's first superhero: Lightbringer!

THE PITCH: Pharos City was meant to be a beacon, a New York City or Los Angeles for the Midwest, but within a few short years it all went terribly wrong. The city is so deeply immersed in crime that the common criminal has no fear of conducting his trade in the brightest of day.

Carter Granholme, upon the death of his parents, swore to live up to their ideal of pacifism. However, Carter was born with the ability to manipulate light, either to simply move it around or to fire bursts of energy that could give a man third degree burns.

Carter has finally grown so disgusted with himself that he must take action. Thus he becomes the Lightbringer - the world's first superhero.

INFO: This comic is more drama and serious-minded, kind of on par with MindMistress in that regard. Currently, there are 21 strips, including 2 cover pages. If one is wondering why the comics date on a daily basis up until recently, it's that I wanted to get some pages in right away since the ones posted for Issue 1 were already posted on DeviantArt. Issue 2 has just begun, with content exclusive now to the website and updates will be on Fridays until I've created enough future content for me to update more than once a week.

Rated Web-14 for violence, adult situations, and for the criminal nature of the first badguys Lightbringer must face.

I'd attach an image, but sadly the rules forbid me for size constraints. As such, my favorite comic so far is the end of issue 1 and, as such, I don't want to give it away. ^_~ Instead, I point to the cover of issue 1, an homage to the ever-homageable Identity Crisis #2:

So join Carter Granholme as he tries to take back his city, learn what it is to be a superhero, and try to be the world's first superhero in LIGHTBRINGER.

NOTE: Sorry about the lengthy pitch.
