Simple, fast, easy, more adjectives question:
How do I make my shoutbox match my site with different color posts and stuff? I've never had one of these before! *^^*

i use shoutmix, it's very simple to customize it however you want. i also like it because it lets you write long posts and it's very stable (my last one was down half the time)

Big fan of shoutmix
I went through my shoutmix shoutbox and customized the colors (as well as creating corner graphics for the html table) and got this, or this in context on my site. I think it turned out rather nicely, and I feel it helps to show just how versatile the shoutmix shoutbox really is.
A word of advice, though. Don't try to set your shoutmix shoutbox to scale to the window size, as this causes any tables around it that are capable of stretching to fill in empty space to do so in several browsers (scaling works fine in Firefox, but not Safari. I had to set an absolute height to correct this. Not sure about Explorer, but it was pretty picky about a few other attributes I had manually coded in.)
