gizmo's art

Post by Dapple »

Hi all. gizmo is sitting on a pile of sketches, and needs a push in order to post them on Deviant art, I have been trying my best to convince him he doen't need a masterpiece in order to have someithing and from what I have seen he will only get better.

He already has a Deviant art account all Giz needs is a little positive feedback.
So come on everybody.

Sample of his work bellow, I don't want to post anything else, I would hate to upset him by posting without permission, and it's not my work.

Well he does have a Deviant art page, but he has never posted anything, I do have the address of the page were he is keeping his art, but he does have other things, unfinished projects and the like, including a Questor game demo that I could not get to load because zip file is screwed up somehow. gasp gasp D:

He is also working on a fan comic based on RH's work, however it seems to me Gizmo is suffering from having to much on his plate at one time. Lots of tallent and great ideas, but he is pulling his time and recources thin in too many directions. :P

In the meantime I am just going to wait to here from him, and hope he's not mad at me for posting his picy... :(

A rac-conan autopsy / anatomy class. Interesting subject, I like how he covers the full range of emotions from the bland detachment of the professor, to the (perhaps over?) eagerness of the student leaning out in the middle left. Finally the lower left with the poor guy getting ready to lose his lunch, that detail is just priceless!

I also like the bit of detail he goes into making the internal organ diagrams on the wall. that is another good point.

Very nice work. I'd like to see what he does with Ayshe as the Guardian. (BTW Blas, what happened to that pic you were gonna do?)

I am very impressed with how natural these characters seem to be in their bodies (very well drawn poses, expressions and anatomy). Each character displays character background, personality and thought processes (very good visual story telling) The line quality is supurb showing a good command of art and of character design. If this person has dabbled in animation, I would be extra interested. I know already that if this person posts on DeviantArt the site will end up on my watch list quickly as I do searches for animals like raccoons often on DA and fav artists that I figure I can learn something from. I would rate what I have seen so far to place this artist in my top third of watched artists on my list.

Post what, exactly? ;)

Dapple wrote:Gizmo is out of the country right now and is having trouble getting to his computer, but he'll be back in a couple of days.
I just got back from a a week long trip in Japan. During the time I could browse and post on the forums, but I didn't have a scanner, nor much time doing drawings.

Dapple wrote:Well he does have a Deviant art page, but he has never posted anything, I do have the address of the page were he is keeping his art, but he does have other things, unfinished projects and the like, including a Questor game demo that I could not get to load because zip file is screwed up somehow. gasp gasp D:
I do have a Deviant art page, but I havn't figured out a good way to update it. I scan and upload my stuff onto my own personal sketch archive. Is there a Questor Group on the Deviant Art site? A forum/discussions? How do I join it?

The Questor Game is a works-in-progress. Other people have had problems unzipping and running it. Please tell me what you did and what happened, so I can fix it and get a working version.

Heh, maybe I am trying to do too many things, and that's the reason why I'm unable to focus on stuff.

Dapple wrote:In the meantime I am just going to wait to here from him, and hope he's not mad at me for posting his picy... :(
I'm not upset about Dabble posting href/links to the pictures from my sketch archive. I just hope that my server's internet connection survives the downloads.

BlasTech wrote:how large was that drawing by the way? (as in size wise ... wondering how he managed to squeeze those tiny details in there.)
The drawing is done on a page of 9x12in (22.9x30.5cm) sketchpad using a .7mm B automatic led pencil. The size of the 'class' picture is 5x6.5 inches.

I'm a certified Emergency Medical Technician, so I've taken similar classes, learning anatomy/physiology. I've seen the different ways people react to things. Its very interesting material, and it does help to understand what's going on inside when you try to draw things.

Calback wrote:Why does this guy not have his own webcomic?
Mostly because I can't think up a good storyline to do. I also don't know how to do layouts, or organize various 'scenes' together on a page. I collect the How to Draw Manga books, and I've been practicing for years now. I try to do a least one page a week.

GrayTiger wrote:Very nice work. I'd like to see what he does with Ayshe as the Guardian. (BTW Blas, what happened to that pic you were gonna do?)
Ayshe who?

I suppose I could try to draw various characters, if I have permission from the various parties. I have been doing a couple sketches of characters from my own fanfic ideas... I've been trying to think up a storyline to draw out, forces inside and outside of the raccoonian realm plotting and conspiring... about outside shapechangers hiding and trying to survive, armed with magic, myth and information, trying not to get caught, betrayed by their own kind and hunted by folks afrade of the outside world... but its still just an idea at this point.
