I seem to remember a collar that looked much more like a clarical collar to so I suspect Ralph did a touch-up to avoid confusion.

Regarding the lux-less weapon (crossbow), I would suppose it would be a good idea for this team to be ready for cases where luxcraft is rendered useless.

What puzzles me is what made that 'THOOOOM!!!'? I don't think that Quentyn had any pyrotechnics on him, so unless that kraken had burst like an highly overinflated pool toy, I don't know what would cause such an earth shaking event.

Well, remember that Wildcard can do almost anything. We've seen it fire energy, fire, ice and sound. Throw in the fact that this power is so potent that it's cracking the ground, and you're going to get "THOOOOM" from the acoustics alone as the kraken goes from "well inhabitant" to "well done". Poor Quentyn's ears are going to be ringing for at least a day...

And if that RiB had fired his crossbow and hit, would be be a kraken good shot?

Actually, it looks like Wildcard's protective circuits are still on the job. It was loud, but he's hearing normally again almost immediately. If he'd been unprotected that close to a sonic blast, he'd be deaf for a day or two.

And this will probably end up being a test case of the 'in absentia' provision - someone messed up and didn't write a solid enough 'the boy's -hiding- from the court' provision into it, so they're able to get away with not -notifying- a defendant? It's no wonder the lawyers are armed - they'll be lucky to get away with their fur intact.

I don't recall ice... The first time Wildcard showed any power, it was the Ginsu of Cleaving effect on the three gators. The second was lightning bolts on the training ground. No telling what it would have done to the gangstas if the lot of 'em hadn't been netted first. Then the kraken-pulverizing Thoom of Doom.
