reminds me of what my brother said about the show 24,

"there's a gunfight in every episode" and he's almost correct in that.
I still say the doctor did it....

Won't that explosion cause a panic with the audience in the stadium?

Probably, but they'll still be alive.

Or, they might think it part of the rock concert pyrotechnics.

I think they're making reference to the old show "A team". the air swim is the practice of when some big explosion goes off and throws someone, they wildly swing their arms and legs. In the timeless slo-mo, it looks like they're swimming.

in other words, it's the hallmark of a cheesy action scene explosion, but oh so fun to watch.

They are and it is....BUT.....it's also SOOOOOO much fun to DO as well!!

I got to know James "Roscoe P. Coltrane" Best thru several limo gigs and he used to teach at his stuntman school out here in Ocala. He did most of his own stunts in "Hooper" and on a visit to his school, let me try the air-ram assisted flying body stunt. After some practice, I was clearing 8-10' peaks before landing on the catch pads......MUCHO FUN!!!!

A good air-ram platform can launch your butt well over 10' into the air for some spectacular air/hang time and shot in slo-mo can make for a great flying body scene. Some of the outtakes have the stuntmen mugging for the camera while airborn and the facial expressions when seen in slo-mo will absolutely put you in hysterical convulsions of blue faced (can't breath), pants-wetting laughter. XD

Like he (Best) sang in the closing credits of "Hooper"...'Ain't nothin' like the life of a Hollywood stuntman.'

It wouldn't be an action movie if they didn't blow something to smithereens. Honestly, I was wondering what was taking them so long.

If Michael Bay or Jerry Bruckheimer had been involved, there would have been an explosion in the first five minutes.

I swear, if I win the lottery I'm gonna make the greatest action blockbuster of all time. No stupid plot, no A-list actors. Nothing but 90 straight minutes of car chases, gun fights and explosions. Gonna call it "STUFF BLOWS UP!!!"

I'll make a fortune.

Yep they need to blow something up or it wouldn't be an action flick! :) :)

Reminds me of the single best line in "XXX" when Vin Diesel tells the cop as their in a major shoot out with the baddies...."Stop thinking Czech Police, start thinking 'PlayStation'.....BLOW SH*T UP!!!" XD

I nearly choked on my drink when he said that......wonderful line.

I suspect the movie Titanic would have been a lot better if the ship blew itself to kingdom come instead of just sank.

Have you seen the TIE-tanic video on the Internet? The Titanic vs. a squadron of TIE fighters. Results take a little longer, more fireworks, but are no less certain, than in "Bambi vs. Godzilla".
