Cast Page?

Post by Jachra »

A cast page like Nip and Tuck wouldn't be too untoward, would it? ;D

Ralph's been a bit busy, unfortunately, so it's unlikely he'll be able to make one anytime soon. The fans have been asking for it for a while, but we've yet to see it. *shrugs* In any case, we get along fine without it.

However, if someone should decide to make a cast page for Ralph, I can't see him turning them down. How do you think we got a drop-down menu?
I'm lost. I've gone to find myself. If I should return before I get back, please ask me to wait. Thanks.

I suspect he'd welcome it.

I might be able to find time to make collages of images of characters (I like to have as many images of the character as possible and as a collage, the image can remain farily small bit-wise)

Another thing that's been discussed before is that the story will probably change, and that major characters that were on the cast page before are now quite unimportant, and new characters could take the spotlight. The page would have to be updated frequently or it would become obsolete.
Both a heart and a brain are necessary for survival. Without one, the other will quickly perish.

"I can say—not as a patriotic bromide, but with full knowledge of the necessary metaphysical, epistemological, ethical, political and aesthetic roots—that the United States of America is the greatest, the noblest and, in its original founding principles, the only moral country in the history of the world." - Ayn Rand

Nip and Tuck has a cast page.
Goblin Hollow at least used to have a cast page, but now it has a broken link that seems to be trying to point to the N&T cast page. In any case this is where I think the arguement about the active character's changing recently might apply.
Tales of the Questor has too many characters of great SHORT TERM importance for a cast page to work that well... but I think the following could be safely said to keep appearing:
Quentin, Quentin's Parents, The individual members of the council of elders, Brother Linneaus, Kestrel, Nessie, Rahan, and maybe Fen.

I think the most sensible thing would be to somewhat start our own here.

Kinda write up a small bio of a character (has to be main. Nothing like "Royals Goon #2" or anything like that) and somewhat use that as the "official" bio of the character untill RH creates one.

we could get a ranking system, like put em up first based on newness and then after that list them by how many pages they've been on or something,

just a thought.
I still say the doctor did it....

A quick, toss-and-duck idea:
some comics have a reader's guide, which acts as a combined list of arc links, story summary, and organizer. Could we modify this idea to include a 'characters featured in this story' kind of thing?

An example of the 'reader's guide' idea can be found at
http://untitled.comicgen.com/rguide.html

(And how does one post hyperlinks in this forum system, anyway?[/url]

It appears the link was inadvertantly overwritten.

Fortunately, it's sort of obvious what the break was.

When you get the 404 error, change the last part of the URL from "nt_cast.html" to "utlt_cast.html"

And there you go.

Well spotted, Ed. Thank you.

I see Piff isn't up there, though.

De nada. No biggie.

As for Piff, I suspect that the cast "photo" hasn't been updated since before the crossover with Schlock Mercenary, an x-over I found hilariously amusing.

Even more so now that an aquantance of mine is writing a fanfic that - impossible as it may seem! - successfully crosses over "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" with Schlock Mercenary. :o :D

Give me three days, a blank Notepad document, three packs of marshmellows and half a tone of grownd coffie.
