Up next, some sly remark from Nip to the effect that Sierra's character ought to be in a burkah - followed by the punch she didn't pull.

I was wondering about that...what Islamic terrorist would have a woman fighting for them, especially one dressed as immodestly as her? Or am I thinking about this too much?
There is something to be said for competent silence.

Hey you gotta remember who wrote the original script. They had to make do with the shots that were taken and dub over the voices. :o :o

That and it would be the perfect cover for fundamentalist Islamic terrorists to have a scantily clad femme fatale on their side.

That and the fact that they're also raving hypocrites.

They're quite willing to stoop to using dirty, dirty women as cannon fodder when it suits their needs.

taking some "western-corrupted female" and brainwashing her into "redeeming herself in Allah's eyes" by joining a suicide mission would be right up their alley.

I imagined them telling this would guarantee her children would get into heaven, but that probably isn't likely, I'm probably shivering over the "Crying Freeman" premise. I love the "Holy One" part. I read some muslim lyrics about how Muhhammed is to be worshipped (well, the word was adored). This would realte Muslims next to Catholics on the most abused icons of the world.

For some reason I see Nip converting her while trying not to kill her during their fight, or just knocking her out and saving her from being killed for failing which for some reason she will know happened even though she was unconscience and there fore somehow help Nip.

What role was she originally supposed to play, I wonder?
In the "Moore" version, Nip was supposed to be the bad guy, attacking an innocent religious commune of peaceful Islamic worshippers...
Maybe she was a guard for the women's dormitory, just on her way back from the gym...?
XD  XD  XD

[...unWARP!!!]

Good evening.

In Spanish, the word for worship is adorar.
Dictionary.com wrote:Worship = from the Old English weorthscipe (to give something worth or value.)
1. To honor and love as a deity.
2. To regard with ardent or adoring esteem or devotion

Adore (adorar) = from the Latin ad orare, to pray to. (and I thought it meant "to give the worth of gold or to turn into gold")
1. To worship as God or a god.
2. To regard with deep, often rapturous love.
3. To like very much
¡Zacatepóngolas!

Until next time, remember:

J.A.M. (a.k.a. Numbuh i: "Just because I'm imaginary doesn't mean I don't exist")

Good evening.

Common mistake for anyone who isn't familiar with Latin. Orare and aurum are easy to mix up if you haven't seen how they're spelled.

Yeah, I'm a Latin snob. I have a right to be, though: I took four years of it in high school.

/and now i can barely remember any of it
//about half the vocabulary
///and a little of the grammar

Probably doesn't help either that in French the vowel's gone and morphed, if I recall correctly, so gold is "or."

In the original movie, there were no terrorists. She could have been a guard at their mosque, I guess. Why the Islamic worshippers ever went to the Astro Dome... Hmmm... Maybe they didn't. Maybe that explains the grainy quality of the background image. Maybe it was a chunk of file-footage they happened to have available.
Or maybe the faithful were holding a worship service in the Astro Dome... I dunno.

I had the impression that Nip was the hero regardless - but in the original version, he was the brave youngster exposing a plot by the Evil Government to fake up a terrorist attack as an excuse for stealing Mideast Oil. So in the original version, he was up against brainwashed military dupes.

Nah, this is SOP for the backwoods of Islam - it really -is- in the Koran. Jews and Christians get to surrender and be second-class citizens. Everyone else gets to convert or die. And someone who gives up on Islam is the worst.

To Karzai's credit, he looks like he's hunting for a way out that won't destabilize the lunatics he's supposedly in charge of. But I swear, the Zero Option looks better every day.
