Could not connect to the Local database
Warning: mysql_query(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in /bigdog1/space/siteadmin/public_html/mysql4.php on line 118

And in FTP, it says my password won't work -- and I've tried both my forum and comic password.

Um...

That still doesn't explain anything. All that link leads to is another page of people just as confused as we are about this. Is it a crash of some sort, or just scheduled maintenance gone wrong?

On another note...

The FTP server seems to be working just fine, if you exclude the tiny issue of not being able to log in to it. The PureFTPd login and welcome message pops up as it should, but no login is actually possible. I imagine what happened was a crash, and they're rebuilding the user list on the server. I guess all we can do is sit tight and wait it out. That's a pretty big database to rebuild if that's the case.

Uggh.... I wish they'd post a "we're down" message or something then. This is bad news... glad I have some buffer strips..

Strange, isn't it? That's exactly the problem that I'm having, as can be seen:
SmartFTP v1.5.990.11
Resolving host name "joyride.keenspace.com"
Connected to joyride.keenspace.com.
220---------- Welcome to Pure-FTPd [TLS] ----------
220-You are user number 2 of 50 allowed.
220-Local time is now 17:17. Server port: 21.
220-This is a private system - No anonymous login
220-IPv6 connections are also welcome on this server.
220 You will be disconnected after 3 minutes of inactivity.
USER joyride

PASS (hidden)
530 Authentication failed, sorry
Darn! I hope it gets fixed some time before midnight, when everyone has to have their Monday's page on the server... D=

Now that you mention it...

It seems kinda weird to me that they haven't posted anything in the announcement tag that I have plugged in my site. You'd think they'd do something with that at least. Oh well.
That's the breaks, I guess.

It's kind of nice to know that it's not just me, however, if I want my comic to go up tommarrow, and I do, and if I want to get to bed before 11 (school), and I do, then I'm pretty screwed.
How many ants have I eaten in the last week? One.

Yaknow what, they actually use that thing way less than you might think. @_o I've been here nigh a year and to the best of my memory, I've only seen them use it once.
