Mar.4-Ocarina of....Rac'conan
I'm sorry but the first thing I thought of when I saw this strip was Zelda 64 and the Ocarina of Time. Anyway, the final are really sweet and made me want to curl into a little ball and hug a teddy bear. Really cute. I think Kessie is trying to remind Fen that there is life and i the pursuit thereof is a noble cause to.

No, no, no! Its gotta be Kessie and Quentyn! Its gotta! And I don't live vicariously through comics.
In all honestly....I think we are at the fork in the road on the relationship aspect whter it be Fen or Quentyn who is involved with Kessie.

Yes, yes, I've heard all the "parallels" before. Link wears green and carries a sword. Quentyn wears green and carries a sword. TWO PEAS IN A POD!
Look, I did a lot of research into folk music and musical instruments ranging from the classic and unusual (http://larkinthemorning.com/) to the truly bizarre and experimental(http://www.oddmusic.com/gallery/index.html), trying to get a feel for what kinds of musical instruments were actually possible and feasible, in order to make the racconan musical traditions more realistic and fleshed out. (Coincidentally, the Zithran is more than feasible... there is actually a musical instrument called a harp-guitar http://larkinthemorning.com/search.asp? ... ar&x=0&y=0
That works on the basic principles that the zithran does.))
As it stands, the ocarina-- Zelda or no darned Zelda--- is an ideal musical instrument for the Rac Cona Daimh.
First off, it's one of the oldest wind instruments known to man, and it is very widespread, so it's highly likely the Racconans would have adopted it. Second, it's remarkably inexpensive and easy to make--- any culture that knows how to work and bake clay can make one. Third, and this is important, the traditional ones only have five holes... four un top, one in the bottom. Which means its far better suited to small, four-fingrr hands than a typical instrument.

Plus they sound darn pretty.

I just want to say... awwwwww, that was so sweet!
Though actually, I don't think it has to mean anything so far as whether or not Kes and Fen get together. Kes is trying to encourage her currently rather discouraged childhood friend, and she's used her knowledge about him to do it. That could indicate "something deeper," but it definitely does not have to .

when I first saw the text under the image I went
"he didn't!"
I clicked on it
"he did."
on a different topic it is true that the forums will hit anyone, even Ralph gets hit by the fiendish double post curse!
I remember the first LoZ insturment, the recorder. and back then I wondered what a pipe looking thing had to do with an electrical sound recording and playback device.
as for the whole "who's gonna get Kes?" argument... eh, I'm not really worried either way.
and as for parallels try this one... Master Chief wears green (ok so it's olive but that's a form of green) and sometimes carries a (covenant) sword
and now that the music has FINALLY downloaded I can definately say I like it.

RH sounded just like J.R.R. Tolkien. Everyone was always comparing the One Ring to the ring in Richard Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen. Tolkien hated that. "Both rings were round," Tolkien snarled, "and there the resemblance ceases."RHJunior wrote:Yes, yes, I've heard all the "parallels" before. Link wears green and carries a sword. I bet you believe that people are basically good at heart, too, eh?
Well, each to their own.

Heh very good panel today, very sweet. And yes, the first thing I thought of was the game.
Yes, sir. I agree completely. It takes a well-balanced individual... such as yourself to rule the world. No, sir. No one knows that you were the third one... Solidus. ...What should I do about the woman? Yes sir. I'll keep her under surveillance. Yes. Thank you. Good-bye...... Mr. President.
Hey Moonie, how many comic adventure heros do you know that have wives or girlfriends? How many do you know that avoid entanglements because they don't want to endanger the person they have a relation with? I would not want to wish that on Quentyn but it's just a thought.Madmoonie wrote:No, no, no! Its gotta be Kessie and Quentyn! Its gotta! And I don't live vicariously through comics.

I know, but I want my heros to be happy. All my favorite heros always have to give up the girl they have had crushes on, for like forever, to save her or something. Heros need their lovin' to!
