Toss in a pair of frag grenades, a pair of flashbangs, and go in guns blazing.

Well, there are merits to the tomahawk. for starters, the variety of warheads available: IN addition to the conventional warhead, there exists a nuclear one, as well as one that basically acts like a cluster bomb: drops a whole lotta bomblets in one area.

The Merriam-Webster online dictionary listing of Cult as "a religion regarded as unorthodox or spurious; also : its body of adherents".
So I guess both would be considered Religons. :o :o

Now the IRS, That's a pack of viscous preditors.

The Davidians weren't cultists.

Branch Davidians are a part of the Seventh-Day Adventist religion.

The ones that were involved in Waco were led by an individual named "David Koresh" it wasn't a cult, but given the allegations directed at the leader, it damn well could've been

"Defectors from Koresh's group alleged that he (Koresh himself) practiced polygamy with underage brides, physically abused children, and stockpiled illegal weapons. Eventually, legal authorities investigated their charges."

If so, I doubt he would have done so before stealing the blueprints, unfortunately.

Funny how those charges got leveled AFTER the siege started. And were subsequently proven spurious and lacking any evidence. No stockpile of weapons, legal or otherwise (they had fewer guns per adult than a typical Texas household.) No "meth lab" or other illegal drugs. No proof of child abuse, before or after....

Of course, the gratuitous destruction of evidence by the government afterward (thats what you call it when the feds bulldoze a crime scene before the ashes have even cooled) sort of stunk to high heaven too. Even the steel front door--- a crucial piece of evidence, as it was shot through, and the direction of the bulletholes would have proved or refuted the survivors' claim the ATF shot first--- disappeared somewhere en route to the evidence lockers.

They never even found the sawed-off shotgun Koresh supposedly sold the undercover agents.

The tanks plowing through the walls of a house full of women and children was a nice touch as well. As were the canisters of flammable teargas--- a particular formula internationally outlawed for use on the battlefield because of its rather nasty properties--- shot into rooms lit with kerosene lamps.

All the above doesnt begin to cover some of the uglier reports that came out of that experiment in government jackbooting. Like the fact that it was orchestrated entirely to make the ATF look good for its annual finance review.... they WANTED a big, flashy, attention getting standoff. Demonstrated in the fact that, leading up to the siege, they had THREE OPPORTUNITIES to sieze David Koresh while he was off the compound, shopping in town for groceries.

Or that several of the people involved in the Ruby Ridge fiasco were also involved in Waco.

Now there's a good quote. I think the ATF's jurisdiction should mainly focus on External things like smuggling. There was one famous case that involved an american distillery shipping out cheap wood alcohol disguised as solvent (along with instructions on how to remove the blue dye they used and how to add vodka flavoring) out to Russian Mafiosi.

Yes, sir. I agree completely. It takes a well-balanced individual... such as yourself to rule the world. No, sir. No one knows that you were the third one... Solidus. ...What should I do about the woman? Yes sir. I'll keep her under surveillance. Yes. Thank you. Good-bye...... Mr. President.

By the sound of things they aren't Islamic or Branch Davidians. Maybe they are some overexcited Hare Krishnas.
