Nip's movie

Post by Sciguy »

I like it. It's got me rivited.

I'd pay $10 bucks to stand in a line to watch it, if I weren't tight on funds these days. Daddy needs a new car.

Any other thoughts on the general flow of the comic flick so far?

I think we've got the makings of a pretty good screenplay going on here.

I have some comments I'd like to make but I'll reserve them till this story arc is over.

But I will say this.

The seating thing irks me a little.

Why?

I'm an MST3K junkie that's why.

Sure, but now the Arabs are going to try to hunt down all who were involved in the movie.

Yes, sir. I agree completely. It takes a well-balanced individual... such as yourself to rule the world. No, sir. No one knows that you were the third one... Solidus. ...What should I do about the woman? Yes sir. I'll keep her under surveillance. Yes. Thank you. Good-bye...... Mr. President.

Me and my Enfield MkIV and .357 revolver. Just the three of us. -

As an aside, wouldn't it be weird if our border with Mexico was a lot more secure than we let on?

That we put out this idea that it's got holes like crazy in it, and people from all over the world can sneak in?

And as soon as they try we nab them?

Hey, S'aaruuk, I was wondering how long it would take you to show up once they started talking about weapons.

Aaaaand now the A(M)F and I will just go and find ourselves a nice sound-proof shelter... somewhere out of firing range. :D

Hey Lady Wayfarer

......actually this is the first chance I've had all week to just sit down and go thru the forums. Been swamped in NASCAR fun 'n' stuff in Daytona Beach for the 500 and just got back in town this morning....actually, it about 9:30pm here and I just woke up a little while ago. I'd been driving for about 26hrs straight back and forth from Miami 3 times with VIPs. Sometimes this job can be a killer. Got home about 10:00am, crawled into bed and died for about 11+ hrs.

I've had my laptop with me, but couldn't get enough down time to play on the net or cruise the forums. I've got some down time for the next couple of days so you should be "seeing" more of me in the gab sessions.......that is when I'm not remodeling my geek room (studio) which I've been trying to finish for the past 3 weeks. :-? And it actually started out as a simple bookcase building project that shouldn't have taken more than 3-4 days to complete...including drying time for the urethane......it's taken on a life of it's own and morphed into a complete re-model of the entire network workstation and recording platform. :o

Ah, is that why it's been so peaceful ar- I mean is that where you've been?

Well, even if it's busyness, it sounds like good busyness.

And now...
*Heads off to find a suitable sound-proof, explosion-proof, radiation-proof shelter. Ponders the difficulties of outfitting the projection booth accordingly so she could finish watching the movie.* :D

I prefer the classics. Gimme a Spencer repeating carbine for short range, and a nice Sharps for those 1200+ yard shots...

Did you know that some military researchers settled the question of how far a Sharps COULD shoot? They got into an argument about it, in regards to Billy Dixon's famous 1,500 yard shot at the Battle of Adobe Walls, and had access to a new ballistic radar capable of tracking someting as small as a single bullet. So they went to the owner of a Sharps to ask him to settle their argument. The results were published in Field & Stream magazine.
With the muzzle elevated 35 degrees, Venturino's Shiloh Sharps .50/90 fired a 675-grain bullet (muzzle velocity 1216 fps) that carried more than 3,600 yards! Similar tests with minor variations in bullet weight, powder charge, and velocity all sent slugs over 3,000 yards.
The scientists figured out that if you elevated the muzzle 4.5 to 5 degrees, the .50/90 would send a bullet 1,517 yards, just about the distance of Dixon's shot.
Now THAT'S a rifle! :D

You can have a sinlge revolver if you like. I'll bring along my. . . umm. . . souvenirs from my career. Not all of it was 'disposed' of afterall

Here's a thought.
A good movie these days needs a good soundtrack.
Actually, that's been true since talkies first came out (ref. steamboat willie). How about songs for the movie? This is an old one I recently came across on an ancient Nelson Eddy album:
(O.Hammerstein II & S.Romberg)
You have dreams, if you act
They will come true
To turn your dreams to a fact,
It' s up to you!
If you have the soul and the spirit
Never fear it, you'll see it through
Hearts can inspire other hearts, with their fire
For the strong obey
When a strong man shows them the way
Give me some men
Who are stout-hearted men
Who will fight for the right they adore
Start me with ten,
Who are stout-hearted men
And I'll soon give you ten thousand more

Shoulder to shoulder
And bolder and bolder
They grow as they go to the fore!

Then there's nothing in the world
Can halt or mar a plan
When stout-hearted men
Can stick together man to man
When stout-hearted men
Can stick together man to man...
Expecially good with Eddies light baritone. :D
You can fool some of the people all of the time
And all of the people some of the time
But you can't fool all of the people all of the time.
