Does this basically mean humans are lazy? I mean we skip most of the word and assume it means what we think it means... that not too smart really... Although maybe it's more efficent, I mean, wouldn't it take people for ever to read something if they processed every little letter?

Okay...The last time I read about it....Its not just smart people who can read it but everyone can cos your brain only reads the first and the last letter in a word properly...So as long as they are correct, you can read well....
