Yu-Gi-Oh phase. Don't really want to talk about it. Still play the game.
My other nick, "Nike Young" was just when I was thinking up characters, I'd keep the initials.

In real life people call me Duff, a short version of my last name. I've had this problem since grade school.
At some point in gym class my freshman year, this guy who sorta grew up with me would start shouting, "YEEEEEEAH, DUUUUUUUUUF!" while we were playing soccer or something. When I came to the internet four years later, I needed a name, and since Duff is always taken, I remembered this incident, and yeah. Col and Peppermint Afterlife will recall a similar incident at an art party involving an inebriated art major with a mohawk.

I named my forum account Tim after the main character in my comic. But, since I named my main character after me, it doesn't really matter.
Chat regulars also know me as LZorro, a nick I use most everywhere else on the Internet. I've had it since high school when I needed to make up a username for the old mainframe we used in computer class. The "L" doesn't stand for anything fancy, it's simply a kind of abbreviation for the Spanish term "el zorro". I wanted a generic term (as opposed to the popular hero), but I didn't want to use "UnZorro", either. Other options are Renard or DerFuchs, but I chose Spanish since that's what I was studying in high school.
And if you haven't figured it out by now, el zorro is just a translation of my last name.

I too was remarkably uncreative when it came to my name.
However my name rawks hot awesomeness so no harm done.
I pretty much always use my real name as a screen/username but unfortunately it's also commonly taken so I'll use Oriong instead.
the weirdest I ever get is Onion. Since my name is a little...I guess you could say exotic...it gets mispronounced a fair amount (a lot of people who hear it think I'm scottish, translating it as O'Ryan). The worst case of mispronounciation was a teacher calling roll and she calls out "Onion Gatez?"

Corgan Dane is my alter ego of sorts...I use the name everywhere. Even in real life, when I get the chance.
Name came from a period in my life when I was huge into free form role-playing at a site called the Green Dragon Inn. Vampire with a heart of gold, baby. Oh yeah.
Anyway, I just stuck with the name for everything on the net, and some outside. I plan on using it as a pen name, once I get back to writing.
"Corgan" comes from Bill Corgan. I stole the name, made it a first name. A lot of people assume I'm a Smashing Pumpkins nut, but I'm not. I just like the name. (The Pumpkins were pretty good, though.)
Not sure where I got "Dane." People connect it to being Danish, or to the dog breed, Great Dane. It's neither that I know of. Just sounded good with Corgan, to me.

Mainly because I highly dislike my real name. Thus I don't use it, and everyone I know calls me Robin anyhow. so there's the end of that.corgan_dane wrote:_______ is my alter ego of sorts...I use the name everywhere. Even in real life, when I get the chance.
Pierce came from my favourite author at some point or another I think.

I can ask A-Dogg and Karen, but I do not. I'd give anything to see a picture of you and Amanda giggling drunkenly at The Pussy Cartel.PeppermintAfterlife wrote:That night was epic.yeahduff wrote:In real life people call me Duff, a short version of my last name. Huh, I didn't know that had happened to you before the art party. Interesting. And dang, that night feels like it was so long ago.yeahduff wrote:In real life people call me Duff, a short version of my last name. I've had this problem since grade school.

Mine is just a shortened version of my name. I kinda wish I'd been more creative with it now. Other places I'm known as nilocomic, which is my name spelled backwards going into the word comic. Use that for all my email addresses too.
For the longest time back in the 90's, I always used Chaos as nickname. I really dug it for some reason.
Well....The first time I was online and chatting on ICQ....PPl were not so friendly to me...I had different names like Sunset...blah blah blah...I was takin french at the moment and I used "Amis" which is plural for Friends ...I met Jops then too...And he used the name Amis fro a character in the comic...The girl was a Corporal....So the name CorpAmis....
Amis has kinda became my real name now...Even I call myself "Amis" these days...( you know those self- conversations).....Jops calls me "Amis" too....

The real creativity lies in hiding your sources.
