Okay I did not see THAT one coming... She's been blacklisted? By whom?

Something I just thought of...during that commissioned strip a while back, the one with Schlepp and "The Test"? http://nipandtuck.comicgenesis.com/d/20051121.html This strip made it sound like the movie was very critical of Arabs and Muslims to the point of stereotyping. At least to the commissioned character's point of view. Yet the script Nip was shown seems just the opposite. Probably by the guy she's working for.

She threatens to quit and he says "Quit and you won't get a job bussing tables in this town." and then makes good on his threat. She looks for work and finds all prospective employers...less than receptive. Last time I checked this kind of blackballing wasn't legal, but that doesn't stop these slimeballs--they're celebrities, they're above the law. (And don't you dare tell me any different. Two words--OJ SIMPSON. Two more--MICHAEL JACKSON)

Wouldn't they have to give him a layoff package and send him on his way? If the choice to terminate his contract is fat ass's decision, how can he hold Nip legally accountable?

What do you bet that director Slime Bucket as somehow gotten nearly all or at least some of the cast and/or crew blacklisted and has offered them employment "out of the goodness of his heart" in his movie with the "you can work for me, or you don't work...period" line?

It's a rather interisting situation. But there's always some option.

They say don't screw thew system. It'll screw you back harder.

Ask yourself, does the reverse apply.

After the movie hits a theater, Nip and the cast are screwed by the big pig.

Does the contract say what may happen if Nip torpedos the movie in an interview before the premeir?

He can't reveal the script. But what if he reveald the director knowingly tricked all the actors and part of the crew into roles detremental to their careers. His new found ally could even point out it was done without concern on the directrors part, for the actors images. Infact, he intentinaly decived them knowing they wouldn't agree to the script.

Then if I were Nip, I'd hint at the fact the actors could lash back with a class action suit, suing for defamation of charater, damage done to their careers, or something like that. Bad plubicity and it hurts the director's political cause. The studios and theaters might even pull the pulg on the moive all together. Not to mention other actors blacklisting anything to do with the director.

Don't screw with the actors, or the actors will screw you back even harder.

I think that the point of view in "the test" strip, is for before they get to the part about the "revelation" about who is REALLY behind the plots.

Well, at this point they're filming the action sequences.... not the dialogue or plot.

You have to remember, <I>movies aren't filmed in order.</i> They bounce from scene to scene depending on circumstances. This director is choosing to film the action scenes first... and without any context, all anyone is seeing is "soldiers and arabs shooting at each other." This way, as it's an action film, the director can get almost all the movie in the can before anyone figures out what the subcontext is.

For instance, the scene in "the Test", actors think they're filming a raid on a terrorist hideout. When the director splices the dialogue in, though, it'll turn into a Waco-style slaughterfest of an innocent isolated religious community.

I think Nip might be able to use their rules against them. Has he decided that the acting thing is not for him after all, and just wants to quit? If so, if he were to go out and do a quick moonlight in a non-union job, wouldn't the SAG *force* Scum-Buckets to fire him? And, perhaps just as important, prevent them from using any of the footage they've already shot of him?

Well, if he gets blackballed by SAG he could always work for Mr. Lucas, he's about as non-union as they come.

Should Nip be a member of SAG. There is a provision that literally save him and give the Director his come uppance.

Also doing a little research on SAG, they have only banned one person recently for doing a non-union casting call as well as fined Tiger Woods $100,000 for appearing in a non-union commercial.

They also temporarily barred some 1,500 people that did non-union work during the strick several years ago (2000 or so)

Given RH's talent for producing a good, speedy wrap up in these type arcs. I can imagine that it will atleast be entertaining to see how it ends.

LOL Did you read the rest of that list? The first few are legal bits meant to save your hide in court. The rest, well... they speak for themselves.
